Trying to make their jobs seem important. No coach gives a shite if you lie and say what she said in the OP. Her point is true and valid
I’m with Pride on this one.
The coaches don’t give much of anything in these interviews they give when they are trying to run off to the locker room. The only time we ever pay attention to them is when a coach says something funny or does something that is specifically meant to go viral (Lane Kiffen popcorn, or Mike Leach rambling off topic).
Charissa didn’t make up injury news, she just ad libbed some generic coach speak in which the coach is glad she did it so he didn’t have to waste time speaking with her.
And I think most fans hate the in game interviews (baseball coaches/players when pitches are being made) They take away from the game. The fans aren’t asking for that.

Commie Dan Patrick on his radio show right now acting like Charissa murdered a co-worker or something.
Sounds like he basically ended a longtime friendship with her yesterday over this.
"She just sounded ungrateful and like she was looking down upon these other women who do that job."
"Thetr are some really really really good sideline reporters out there and now all these women are going to be asked that same question. It's just such a bad look. I don't know how she is going to navigate this going forward."
...
She's a fricking studio host now who said the quiet part our loud. Who gives an absolute shite.
Everyone knows that job is not needed anyway other than the occasional "He's walking in a boot, Joe, and thayve just taken him to the locker room" injury account.

Someone will have to explain to me how sideline reporters like Charissa, Erin Andrews, or Maria Taylor command so much money. Sure, they’re good to look at but there are probably thousands of similarly attractive women who would do the job for cheaper. Not one single extra eyeball is tuning into these games because of them. How do they have any leverage in salary negotiation?

I was always under the assumption that all sideline reporter “quotes” from coaches are made up.
None of it ever means anything.
None of it ever means anything.

It's not hard to do. Coaches same the same shite over and over. It's boring.
Winning big? "Good first half but we can't get comfortable"
Winning close? "We need to clean up some things but we played a good first half"
Tied? "That's a good team over there and we need to make adjustments to play better in the second half"
Losing close? "We're in this thing we just have to cut back on ____ and ____ and play smart football"
Losing big? "Look we just have to regroup and go out there and just play football. Still 30 minutes left"

No coach should be glad some sideline reporter made up some stuff that you said on national tv when you never even talked to them. Just dont do the report.
Why do these women get a pass when no one else in the media would?

My respect for Lisa Salters is infinite. When I did sideline reporting in 2012, I reached out to her for insight on how to do the job the right way and she dropped jewels on me. A lot of women in our industry — but especially Black women — felt really betrayed by what CT admitted.

If someone said, "coach, you never have to do another in game or halftime interview but you have to agree to let the sideline reporter spew all the cliches in your name."
99% would say, "DEAL!"

Even her crawfishing statement today sounded terrible. I can't imagine why she would admit that.
She does have a very cute vagina though, so there's that.
