Apparently the Christmas lights in City Park are the issue at Gormley for Friday and Saturday night. Saturday at 1pm was a no go due to some LHSAA rule about games not being allowed to kickoff before 5pm

Must be a newer rule. WM played St Aug during the day in 2000 there due to the lights.

Went to HC in the early 80s (82 -85) I don't remember losing to the Blue Gheys. I remember beating that arse in 83 pretty bad that Nicky Hazard lost his cool and got thrown out the game. Then I remember The Blue Gheys were undefeated in 84 going into the HC game....they left 9-1.

Did they ever put actual stairs in stairwells at Banks and Carrollton?

Acadiana is abusing the “mutual agreement” part of that rule… it should be where the home team, if they can’t play Friday night on their home field, sets the game site, date and time with LHSAA approval in the playoffs. If Acadiana is to complain they should do so to the LHSAA.

Though I do wonder why Yenni or Memtsas isn’t available. None of those teams are left in the playoffs hosting this week.

I agree with this interpretation as well.

Hard to believe they couldn't come up with a better option than Hammond though.

HC was saying 1pm Saturday at Gormley but that would have required agreement from Acadiana.

Since they didn't agree, HC can pick the start time but it can't be before 5pm and after 5 is a no go at Gormley.

And 99/100 teams would have agreed and said “cool, that makes sense”

Though to be fair, most of the time it’s NOLA teams so the travel isn’t as big a deal.

But Lafayette to NOLA travel still isn’t that big a deal despite the efforts of Acadiana Facebook moms to convince us so.

HC was pretty salty back then. HC's Rene Perez broke Martin player Jay Rink's jaw. Not sure of the year.

Any chance Alexandria can upset Edna Karr? EK looks unbeatable.

That's more Curtis... They literally line up like 50 short busses outside of The Shrine for home games....

It's a sight to behold.

What I heard was that other stadiums were contacted including Joe Yenni and Bobby Nuss and the answer was there wouldn’t be enough staffing

Which in our case was a semi weird answer because if we had won last week we would have had a home quarterfinal and I’m sure there would have been the staffing for that

It was a nice way of saying “we’re not trying to host Holy Cross home games anymore when they’re our biggest rivals on and off the field”

That makes sense.

I'm curious how deep they went on this hunt. Even Destrehan or Hahnville would have been a lot closer. Maybe Salt could have pulled some strings at HHS. LOL

security staffing is also an issues.. but keep in mind SLU is a great venue for hs and rent is perfect and they have their own security
