They have won state with comparable sized lines but the difference is they had a qb who could actually run the option.
As a whole career veer guy.... player, coach, scout and coach again....

those dudes don't grow on trees. especially now adays.

In 2014 Acadiana lost 4 games in the regular season. The quarterback couldn’t run the option and was a below average passer, like the one Acadiana has this year. They took a linebacker, Kevan Moore, and put him at quarterback. Hadn’t played quarterback the entire year. They beat undefeated Ponchatoula, one loss Zachary, and undefeated Destrehan in the playoffs to win it all. And I assure you Acadiana has a guy on the team who can run the option. They have athletes all over the place.

Yeah they don’t have a stadium. They haven’t listed the location of the game for some reason

They are looking at The Willow School depending on when they would play and Willow’s soccer schedule
pan am and joe brown are misery for playoff officials. No place to change before or after. several schools(that are playoff regulars have similar issues but they get 1-2 hotel rooms for officials in that case).

for those of you that don't know playoff officials don't come from the same area of either team.

It's way more than being an athlete, way more. it's a refined mix of being and athlete and 2 other key ingredients.... or else JC would have more titles (especially since being in div 1 / 5a}

To run an option based offense you have to be able to run the option. John Curtis may have that same problem sometimes but the fact remains the same. And Curtis does way more with sweeps and screens than acadiana does. They also can run a good option. They’re comparable offenses in that they run out of a split back veer, but two completely differently run offenses.

On the topic of Ponchatoula, how would you compare our 2014 and 2021 teams? I know 2014 lost to y'all and 2021 beat y'all, but I feel like they were both title contenders.

2014 Ponchatoula was better imo. 2021 was good but if 2014 Ponchy gets past Acadiana I don’t think anyone was beating them with that qb. Sucks he got hurt. Our best corner (currently at lsu) was out in 2021 and Ponchy qb picked us apart in the second half, so it was almost a reversal of fortune.

Interesting answer. I know several people believe the 2021 team was better, including our own Ponchy Tiger. I personally feel like Campbell was the most unstoppable player on either team but 2021 had a more balanced offense and a better defense.

I just find it cool that Hank Tierney got us 2 title shots with 2 completely different offenses.

HC vs Acadiana will be Saturday at 1pm, Gormley.

The HC/Acadiana game has been moved to Saturday night at 7pm in Hammond.

How do these decisions get made? Who makes them?

Who is playing at Gormley Friday night? Or Saturday afternoon or night?

Looking at results, St Charles looks like a monster.

Does ND stand a chance?

Apparently the Christmas lights in City Park are the issue at Gormley for Friday and Saturday night.

Saturday at 1pm was a no go due to some LHSAA rule about games not being allowed to kickoff before 5pm

Crescent City Sports

That Christmas lights conflict has been around a Looong time. I believe ST aug played 2 semifinals at memtsas 75 and 93 because of it.
