Maybe Walker being at home last week and Northshore being on the road has something to do with it.

Just so they know, I was here when we sucked and it wasn’t cool

But yeah I can imagine in the Bobby Nuss and Bill Chimento days we would have been frequent topics of conversation from the mid 60s to the mid 80s…

Regional round rules:

Home team will be:
-Team with a round 1 bye
-higher seed if both teams were home round 1
-team that traveled in round 1
-If both teams traveled then the higher seed will be home.

For quarters and semis the higher seed will always be home.

It’s a good thing Northshore beat West Monroe because Walker would have possibly been faced with straight road games to North Louisiana: West Monroe, Ruston and Airline to advance.

Neville is the only North La school on the other side of the bracket.

Anyone with info on Brother Martin, our Trojans are headed down to play them.

ASH has close losses to WM and Ruston, and poor performances early against Carencro and STM. ASH has found a ground game that is pretty solid and can throw it situationally. Defensively they play pretty good coverage and have had an improvement in DL play of late.

Curious what type of offense BM is running and any other insight.

Why are schools like Acadiana and Carencro in select? Aren’t they 5A publics?

It has to do with enrollment districts IIRC.

If you have the ability to pull from an entire geographic area as opposed to a specific district, you are generally considered select. This is why the likes of Karr are on there, as Orleans Parish generally abolished districts in the wake of Katrina in favor of open enrollment charters.

Select =/= Private

They changed the scope of “select” just prior to last football season which pulled a large number of public schools magnet components or open-enrollment since they were no longer bound by traditional attendance zones.

Not correct. If both teams traveled then the higher seeded team hosts.

BM will run zone reads until you stop it, and probably still keep running it. Above average offensive line and 3 good backs to hand it to. The QB is above average but he won't throw it too much. They will use RPOs, though.

BM's strength is their defense. They will suffocate you. Tough front and athletes on the back end. STM is the only offense that has really given them any trouble. They got leaky against Curtis, at times, too. Outside of those 2, they barely give up 10 a game.

That is what it looks like when you just look at schedule and scores. If ASH will not get too impatient on offense, I feel they will do ok. ASH will go tempo, tempo, tempo...even when down a score or two early and that puts them in some big holes early. That happened versus Carencro and STM. Neither of those games were close in spite of some late scores. We had WM on the ropes and had a freak fumble as our guy was walking into the endzone that turned the game completely around.

I am hoping for a good game and thanks for the resposne
