let's not act like Oregon doesn't have deep pockets either... i'm sure Knight would pony up the money to outbid aTm

Their last two coaches were hired away. I don't think getting into bidding wars interests Oregon much. They'll just move on to the next guy.

Belotti, Kelly, Helfrich, and Cristobal were all internal promotions. Splash hires and huge contracts have never really been their thing, and it has largely worked for them.

He definitely has multiple questionable calls throughout a game.

Phil Knight wants to see a National Championship in his lifetime. He will pay whatever it takes to keep Lanning. Lanning would be an idiot to take the A&M job.

Would be a bad move for Lanning. A&M cant get out of its own way... Lanning should wait for a true power to open before moving.

If the Ducks make the playoffs, he'll be tied up till mid Jan. at best. If he's in the Final 4, no way he bails. And no way the aggies wait that long.

Of course they're going to talk to him. He would be dumb to not listen.

I'm sure he will get a call. I'm also sure he will say "no thanks"

Oregon has played in TWO NC games since 2010.

How many NC games (or the equivalent) have A&M played in since.....1939?

Yeah, but we were in a rut , similar, but not as bad, and needed someone to turn the culture around. A&M has the means to give a good coach what he needs. Southern kids respond good to Lanning. He's got inroads in the South. He would be my guy in a New York minute, if I were them.

You don't want to bring in the wrong, inexperienced guy this go around, if you are them. They don't have much to choose from out there. He seems to have that drive about him.

A&M is now potentially back to being third in their own state with Texas and OU joining the conference.

Oklahoma is not in Texas. It's in Oklahoma.

Just like every coach aTm has hired over the last 80 years.

He's in the "group" that is wanting to land the Bama gig.
