PDFs of Sears, Wards and Pennys Christening catalogs are on archive.org.
the fun catalogs are pre WWI, when the Wish Book was the Amazon of its day, bringing the world to the most isolated farm family

There is a great PBS American Experience doc on Richard Sears called "Mr Sears Catalog"

Wilson's Radio Shack Woolworth

Wilson’s had great sales on Scotch videocassettes.

I’ve never been in a Woolworths. I did go into Woolcos and Treasury stores in Memphis.

Any other dinosaurs remember Globe?

Went there once when I was about 10. Even then I thought it was the dirtiest place I'd ever seen

My first push lawnmower came from there. The variety of stuff you could get was amazing.

Surprised to see that so high. It was next to Piggly Wiggly for me. It was the go-to place for Star Wars figures. I remember buying albums and 8 tracks from there too.

I miss record stores. Record Bar. Sound Shop.

I miss Corn Dog 7.

I miss Service Merchandise.

I miss dedicated Audo/Visual stores, where I could put together a rack mounted stereo, with a separate receiver, cassette player, CD player, and Record player in one stack.

I miss eating at Pizza Hut and playing Pacman or Donkey Kong.

I miss Blockbuster and Movie Gallery.

I actually looked them up awhile back out of boredom. There are only two in the world. One is in Houma, one is in Laurel, MS. Corporate office is in TX in a UHaul rental place.

Surprised with no Chess King mentions, considering the gayness level of this board.
