Every. Damn. Time.

I’ve been down the Dr. Seeds rabbit hole lately. It’s incredible what some of these peptides do.

Healthy weight is so important to overall health. I am surprised the medical industry has seeemingly ignored this problem. Perhaps because producing medications to treat the ill effects of obesity is more profitable.

They've intentionally ignored it because reducing obesity will impact the clinical and pharmaceutical company's very lucrative business.

Obese and severely overweight individuals are likely consuming numerous drugs to treat symptoms caused by obesity. Blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, cardio meds are big $$ to the pharmaceutical industry. The entire medical field makes $$ when doctors' offices stay packed with recurring patients.

It’s perfectly safe. It’s actually just saline and the reason it works is because it finally gives people of size some hope rather than fat shaming them like y’all always do

you must eat a ton to put on 12 pounds in 4 months.

Most of this weight gain is likely from water weight / inflammation from medical conditions that the MJ was helping to control.

I’ve been off MJ for 4 months after losing 50 lbs and thankfully haven’t gained, lost an additional 5 lbs.

Edited to clarify: everyone’s health journey and medical conditions are different, some gain back, some don’t - it is not all dependent on lifestyle choices.

its a shot and makes you feel like you are full. you still eat, you just dont get the dopamine rush like so many fatties crave from food

There are people saying this will have an ENORMOUS economic impact over the coming decades.

This class of drugs isn't just a diet drug, it's an addiction drug. Smoke? This will help you quit. Gamble too much? This will help. Fast food? Don't sweat it, you won't want anymore.

I think it was McDonald's who recently put out a statement in their quarterly saying that this is something they need to prepare for.

ALL that said, I'd be nervous at this point to take it. My understanding is that they aren't really sure WHY this drug has the effects it has on humans.

I get it for morbidly obese to get a start but….
The difference with this and typical DE weight loss is that you lose muscle mass along with fat at a much higher ratio. Loss of muscle mass is extremely detrimental to overall health.

actually, in my experience Mounjaro reduced my anxiety and made me feel calmer and more focused overall.

It killed my appetite for alcohol, so no longer drinking several times a week probably also helped.

besides the water weight that comes back on...much of it is lifestyle choices. upwards of 95%. and im not just making that up, plenty of doctors that specialize in big time weight loss have said this. even the study released today by Lilly on Mounjaro showed another huge loss in weight once their doctors performed big time lifestyle interventions with the patients in the study. This is people that, like you, had already lost significant amounts of weight on the medicine.

your understanding is wrong bro. they have complete understanding of why and how on every mechanism. this isnt some novel dna drug...its a peptide, activating receptors already in the body.

wrong. any diet that puts you in an extreme deficit and doesnt priortize protein and resistance training will cause a loss of muscle.

the drug itself does not cause muscle loss, at all, like not one bit.

again its life style choices. if you get on the drug, eat 10x bw in calories, 200g protein a day and start lifting 2x per week and walking 10k steps per day....you will not lose muscle, you will actually gain it.
