She didn't seem upset or bothered by how poorly we played against a very good team. I was watching her and got the feeling that inside her head - this is what she wanted. A wake-up call for ladies that just saw their new facilities and will get rings this weekend! She didn't seem upset and let them play against a team that wanted this win more than we did! I would have loved a win - but my guess is that Kim won't let them forget this game and how it felt to get their asses kicked!

Spot on! You can play with that level of energy, effort, and execution and lose...or you can prepare like a championship-level program and execute during games to get wins. Your call ladies.

Looked to me like Colorado played team ball while LSU looked like everyone was out for themselves.

AS I have said before, better to lose the first game than the last game.

She’s not crazy. She knows it’s a marathon.

It absolutely felt like they wanted this win badly. 00 played like her hair was on fire while we kept throwing sloppy pass after sloppy pass. And I agree. Kim seemed unbothered. Its a great opportunity for a lesson.

I’ve been saying the same thing. She knows what’s she’s doing. I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost 10-15 more if needed.

I mean, let’s be real. It’s the first game of a very long season. We all overreacted because it didn’t go how we as fans wanted it to, but at the end of the day, there are still positive ways to look at the outcome from last night

In her post game interview she said this Wednesday at film session the team will have a come to Jesus meeting

She also said that she has players who she thought were dogs but she guess she was wrong about them

Some feelings are about to be hurt on this team.

Thought that very thing watching the game. She wasn't her usual highly emotional self on the sidelines and wasn't blasting the refs, etc.

Why would she be upset 1 game into a 30 game season? This isn’t football

Last night was done on purpose. I love where we are at. Mulkey is ready to win another title.

This is SPOT ON. I read her demeanor the same way.

Certainly disappointing and a wake-up call for the team and many of us fans. But I have all the confidence that Mulkey will right the ship.

And I stand by my prediction. This team will beat South Carolina by double digits in the PMAC in January.

It’s not football and there is no need/requirement to go undefeated. Use the early season to test the team, find flaws, and figure out what works best with the players you have. Try to win, obviously, but an early loss can be great for future focus.

Improvements are synonymous with adaptation, and adaptation usually requires being placed under stress. This particular team—fresh off a title and full of stars—was 100% not feeling stress. This loss will help them to improve much more than a win.

Maybe that’s spin, but I think there’s value to this.

November basketball is pretty meaningless. It’s more funny than anything losing the first game when everyone was talking about going undefeated
