Maason Smith continues to be one of the biggest busts for all the hype. Dude had a whopping 1 tackle and was a sieve in the middle of the line. And it wasn't like bama wasn't running up the middle, they did it over and over again.

But don't worry

On that 1 tackle he made sure they knew he got the tackle by standing over them and talking shite

Dudes a fricking clown

I think he's still projected to be a first rounder in the upcoming draft which is crazy to me. He's not a disrupter, not really moving the line, not really getting his paws up affecting the throws like a first rounder at that position is graded.

When we finally get a competent coordinator and a present DL coach, Smith will be a menace. Mark my words. He’s sucked this year, but I watched BJ Ojulari look like shite under Pelini and become an elite pass rusher the next year.

IDK. He's still recovering from a bad ACL tear. I think next season whether that be in the NFL or LSU is a better gauge of who he is as a player.

He was fricking great as a true freshman. I don't think his talent or ability went away.

Even under Pelini he showed what he could do. Maason Smith hasn’t done shite. For all the hype he got, dude has been a 100% bust.

there's no way he runs a good 20 or 40 right now.

He’s not played good at all. But I also think it’s a lot harder for a guy his size to come back from that injury.

I expect him leave for the NFL where he will probably a late round pick, but he’s a guy who could come back and if he really dedicated himself could improve his stock more than just about anyone in the country

I think this all goes back to Coaching. He clearly is talented and has all the tools there is zero reason he should be regressing. I'm sure coming back from the injury plays a small part but there should be zero reason he has no impact. All goes back to coaching.

Any GM that takes him in the first round now is a complete idiot.

Sure he’s got some potential, but you’re crazy to spend first round money on him after watching his film

Can we not just crap on players....

I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to every defensive player on the team.

Matt House has such a bad scheme everyone is out of position in terms of being able to make plays.

Not really true. He played really well as a true freshman and looked like an absolute monster in just a few plays vs FSU before his injury.

Name an LSU defensive player that has lived up to expectations.
It's not the players.
Last week, Alabama players were under achieving. This week they are favored to win it all.
Coaching?

He got pushed exactly where they wanted to push him on every play. It’s not just that he got no push…he couldn’t even hold ground.

The hard truth is Mason Smith was that dude! Before the injury. Now he isn't the same player and that's sad but it's part of football
