I agree! Being just Few miles from the NC line in Tn I know quite a bit about western North Carolina. Asheville would be in the bottom half of the places I would live there.

It’s sad what’s happened to California.

Best weather, gorgeous, and full of abundant resources. Yet the liberals still managed to ruin it

I moved to Charlotte in 2001 and can vouch for the continued inflow. Different traffic situation for our kids as they learn to drive vs. when I was a teenager in Louisiana.

Asheville is a lot of things, but boring isn’t one.

I don't know why the media and people in general highlight CA for losing population as if this is some new phenomenon. This has been going on since the late 80s out there. I had to move to SoCal for a few years in the early 90s and UHaul practically paid me to drive one of their bigger trucks out there.

The statistics don't support this suggestion. The only clear decline started very recently.

No, this is actually the first time the amount of people leaving trumps the people moving in, including illegals.

Replacement theory has already happened in Cali.

40% of the Asheville population is 55+. It wasn’t millennials that ruined Asheville. It was the boomers that moved in 20 years ago

Mainly referring to the rise in the number of skaterat dregs ambling about town. Hipsters from the northeast mainly.

Despite my earlier comments, it’s still one of my favorite towns. Western NC in general is awesome. Brevard is another cool little town right in the Pisgah National Forest.

Greenville and Charleston are booming. Didn’t know Myrtle Beach boom was a thing, likely folks from the Midwest and Northeast who are priced out of retirement on the beach in Florida and decided on Myrtle.

The Charlotte, NC suburbs in SC (Ft. Mill, Rock Hill, Indian Land) have probably grown more percentage wise than any other places in SC.

Asheville has been taken over by hipsters, with the expected results.
Their homeless problem is unreal.

Homeless has gotten so bad in Asheville many of them have crossed over the mountain into the Tri-Cities in East Tennessee. Place is basically Portland without the consistent Antifa. Some fun bars, great beer scene and decent live music tho.

It’s not as bad as other cities, but SLC has the same issues you see elsewhere. Pride parades are a thing. It’s just happening more slowly.

The blue wave that is going completely unnoticed except for those who have been swept under by it. It is inevitable.

Asheville, NC could easily be in the top five for most overrated cities.

Interesting, I consider myself a moderate on the OT but truthfully I’m a hardcore white liberal from California. Greenville sounds like the kind of place I can move my family and even get friends like me to move to. Hopefully we can make needed changes

I’m sorry, but your kind aren’t welcome.

Might I suggest Lewiston , Maine…….…I heard they now have some availability
