Morten signing back again with the Falcons for the Katrina homecoming game was just a bitch move. So he played for them once before, okay, whatever. But, for that particular move, I've no respect for him.

Wil also didn’t betray the Saints and VOLUNTARILY sign with Atlanta.

F off with that. You obviously don’t know your history.

Morten was the best kicker in the league and it wasn’t even close at they time. Kickers were being paid less than a million per year and he wanted to be the forest million filler kicker. And deserved to be

The Saints told him to kick rocks and Atlanta being forward thinkers understood the assignment.

That pattern played out with a lot of saints players around that time.

i am a Benny Ricardo man, m'self.

What happened to the trend of using foreigners as kickers?

Fuad Reveriez, Ali Haji-Sheik, Morten, Stenerud, Igwebuike, any of the Zendejas clan

Also why dont we see barefoot kickers anymore?

would take John Carney over Wil Lutz so GFTO with that nonsense.

And I’d put Doug Brian over Carney

The answer is Morten. He kicked in an era where everyone else was an 80% kicker. Kickers were a s automatic then as they are now

Back in the 80's if your kicker could get close to 70% of his field goals he was an asset. Also they were not utilized as much as they are now. Think about it, guys like Garo Yepremian, Tony Fritsch and even Jan Stenerud would be cut in training camp today.....if they were to even see the field during preseason it would be in the 4th quarter.

Yeah in the advent of FA around 1993 -94 The Saints were the cheapskates of the league. Finks runs off Hebert, Let's Swilling walk. Exposes Sam Mills to the expansion draft and lets Quinn Early go to San Diego. In return the Saints get Wade Wilson and 2 years of Renaldo Turnbull.
