It’s really not even close. Wil Lutz outperformed the “legend” Morten Andersen in virtually every category including accuracy, distance, clutchness, and XPs*

Wil also didn’t betray the Saints and VOLUNTARILY sign with Atlanta. He also didn’t voluntarily sign with Atlanta AGAIN after Hurricane Katrina and kick against us in the Steve Gleason game.

* Morten would have been about 92.5% on todays XPs.

Kickers have gotten better over the years, this graph stops 10 years ago but I'd imagine it's still trending up

If you knew your Saints history Mort was not the one who "betrayed" the Saints.

IMO the award should go to Hartley. He made the greatest kicks in the greatest moments

He missed a 27 yard GW field goal against the Falcons in 2011 that cost us a first round bye (maybe the #1 seed) and basically another Super Bowl.

Year we lost at SF in Divisional round.

Got to compare era to era. It’s the Great Dane. You won’t see Lutz in the Hall of Fame

I guess you think Tom Morstead betrayed us too by finding work after we cut him?

BTW - the greatest kicker is Tom Dempsey

Hartley deserves his attention in Saints lore.

The answer is Morten Andersen and it really ain’t even arguable considering he’s an NFL HOFer as a kicker.

I would take John Carney over Wil Lutz so GFTO with that nonsense.

Yeah , but the Great Dane banged a few fat chicks on a cruise from what I heard. Walton and Johnson used to talk about that often, when they were based in NOLA.
