I hate the bye week before Bama

Law of averages say I will get so hyped up for two weeks and everything will come crashing down on GameDay. Prove me wrong, LSU defense. Hope Matt House is sleeping in his office!!!

Same. Would absolutely play to our advantage to play them this week.

I do not like it either. It always effects the timing coming back after 2 weeks off. I would rather play Bama this week while the offense is clicking and the defense has improved. The week off will hurt the timing actually for both teams. I think more for Bama then LSU. In this game, whoever gets out front early will win. LSU needs to get off to a fast start. As a player it takes a series or two to get going. I'm more worried about the tackling for LSU. CBK better spend a lot of time on one on one tackling. The only advantage for a week off is getting healthy and more time on the game plan. But it always hurts the timing of the offense and tackling on the defense. I would rather had played Bama this week while our offense is on fire right now.

I’m thinking the defense improves a tad for this game. Let them do their thing over the next two weeks and come back ready to fight. They just have to be average and we beat the living shite out of Bama. Simple as that.

It would also have been nice to play Florida early in the year as opposed to now where they are finally finding their identity on offense.

It's actually NS and Alabama that have insisted on the bye before they play LSU every season.

I think the schedule is playing out well. Unfortunately, you can’t play all the teams with offensive issues early while we figured out the defense and the teams with offenses later. Not sure how much it would have mattered anyway.

I have hated it for a while. But, a little like last year I don’t think it will matter that much. Saban will coach his defense to take away what we have been most successful with. We have to be ready for other players to make plays. There will be a spy on Daniels and disguised double teams on our two best receivers. I think they will plan to control our running game without extra help. If our running backs can get 130-140 yards it will tip this one in our favor. Giving Bama an extra week to work this out is what I hate about it.

I think it was Les' idea to put in the bye week but it was painfully obvious once the game started that he didnt do much 'preparing'

I liked the traditional Ole Miss game on or near Halloween followed by Alabama the next weekend.
But I do think the week off helps the players physically after 8 straight weeks with a game.

We desperately need the bye this week. Lot of extra time for D line to work with Pete on technique.
Maybe extra film room time for House and it'll click that you need to pressure the QB. He has refused thus far this year.
Need extra time for a CB to get up to speed with Zy out. Hopefully Denver Harris can get some valuable reps in practice as well.
I'm deeply concerned with our defense against Alabama. Any extra time they can get is desperately needed.
