there isn't anyone else I rather have on the bump tonight. Many people, not me, said he was a pen guy. The haters and doubters will continue to hate no matter how good the yung goat has been
The bats might fail him, as they often do.

It's why I knew that if they didn't sweep at Arlington, they were screwed.
I think they have a great chance tonight. The odds are in their favor to play better at home. Certainly they cannot continue to be THIS bad at home. (I mean they can, but hopefully something gives tonight)

I don't want to dig through RISP numbers of every game again but while compiling that 7-21 home record the team has gone 21-5 on the road.
What the absolute frick is their problem at home? They play like absolute world beaters on the road, the get back home ans it's immediately the same problem. Remember the road trip to Detroit and Boston? Offense was on fire, we beat the absolute shite out of them. Came home and immediately got swept by the Yankees.
Idk what it is but I hate watching this team at Minute Maid.

Based on the at bats in Arlington vs Houston just this series it’s like they are trying so damn hard to do damage and don’t have a plan of attack.
I don’t necessarily think that’s true but that’s certainly what it feels like.

Scherzer is going to give up 5 runs through 2 2/3 and still act like he shouldn’t have been taken out of the game.

Sorry guys. I’m just back in here looking around for Peña and Tucker. Still can’t find them.
Let me know if anyone sees them. That’d be great. kthxbye

I keep reliving the Dubon at bat in the 8th. How can he not be automatically taking the first pitch? How can he not take pitches period until he sees a strike? LeClerc had just walked Tucker on 5 pitches. He’s coming off a devastating implosion.
Another one that is easy to overlook is Abreu’s appearance in the 1st. I get it, you’re a hitter and you want to hit. But the plan is to get Eovaldi out early. So let’s hack at the first pitch.

I honestly think it's the Crawford Boxes that ruin our offense. Not the batters eye.
I think Altuve and Bregman really sell out for the Boxes knowing that they have pull power and a short left field. Neither of them really does any damage into RF.
In addition to that, the short left field basically eliminates any room for well struck line drives to dump in. Then you've got the somewhat recent trend of left fielders sitting at the corner of the Boxes to pinch off the left center gap and neutralize doubles power which also hurts Bregman particularly. He should be a gaps doubles guy.
The Rangers ballpark just fits this lineup so much better.

I don't know what data backs this up, but it feels like we always have a lot of loud outs at home. We're just an easier team to defend in MMP.
Again, I don't have numbers, but this team is always praised for putting the ball in play. This park doesn't seem to reward that as much with the defensive positioning.
We were also very right handed much of the year with Yordan and Mike missing time, which would magnify the issue of that left field power alley being shut down. That's something that needs to be addressed, because Jim ain't tearing down the boxes.

Lit up Sborz during regular season. Can't touch him in playoffs.

Can we all pretend it's an away game--PLEASE?

If Tuck has any concern for the TEAM, he should take his name out of the line up.

It's definitely systemic
Not random
Combination of focus (preparation time doing homework on opposing pitching staff) and I still insist that too much time elapses from the time they take batting practice on the field to first pitch
The ballpark dimensions and general makeup of the team probably also contributes

Love how the Rags fans are all in the thread out of the woodwork pregame and then only postgame if they win. Otherwise, they just disappear. If you're going to come into our thread, stick around to take your medicine when we win!
Very rich, considering there have been countless Astros fans in Rangers game threads, and countless Astros fans talking shite about the Rangers. If you don’t like it, don’t dish it out.

I want them gone. Tear them out, relocate the visitors bullpen and sell field level space like the Field club to make up for lost monies.
You're welcome Jim. My field club idea makes you more money than the Crawford Boxes
