This will fix a lot of issues in Louisiana if we catch youth when they can be molded.

Simply allowing people the freedom to practice their religious beliefs in public would solve a whole lot of issues. No doubt about it.

It's weird that they don't do this anymore in a lot of school systems. All of my kids' schools here in Alabama do it.

depends on what you mean by this. I am personally not opposed, but the ACLU and other groups would instantly file suit and win if you are talking about any organized/sponsored prayer in public schools

Horrible idea. People always think this means their prayers and their religion.

Are you OK with the Muslim call to prayer at your school? Or Satanic rituals being allowed?

Prayer in School is a horrible idea.

If he wastes time and resources on these types of issues out of the gate then he’ll lose momentum on trying to fix the true needs in infrastructure and industry jobs that grow our tax base

The only liberties the ACLU are concerned with are those opposing to faith. That’s why they are always found opposing people of faith rather than coming to the defense of their freedoms and liberties. If they were in the least bit concerned with liberties as a rule, they would come to their defense when they are under attack, but they never do, so I could not care less what they have to say on any matter concerning personal liberties.

After what we just saw in Israel, the right the people have to keep and bear arms that shall not be infringed should be clearly available to anyone living or visiting Louisiana.

The ink wouldn't dry on a bill before the ACLU et al sues to stop it. I'm not against it but its a no win situation and the only people that benefit from this would be the lawyers racking up billable hours.

We shouldn't be molding youth at all.

Nah, this SCOTUS would at least follow the Constitution on that issue.

Voting district boundaries? Not so much. They'll sell the country up the river on that one.

"Prayer in School" can mean a lot of things. Without defining it, it's hard to discuss.

If it means full-blown school recognition and participation in prayer, that's a ridiculous non-starter. Even religious people should be opposed to that, because it opens the door to all kinds of crazyiness.

If it means religious clubs, private prayer time, etc., then that's not a big deal.

If you're referring to school sponsored prayers in public schools, that has already been ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court.

I highly doubt even with the conservative majority on the court now they would overturn that ruling.

What about it?

It wasn’t for some 180 years or so of this country’s existence, and still isn’t for every day in Congress. Why now all of a sudden is it some horrible idea to begin their day in prayer, or if nothing else, allow them a time of silence to pray themselves or in groups?

I disagree. Louisiana is last in everything good and first in everything bad is largely because of a lack of Judeo-Christian values in everything from our culture to our government. It’s a reflection of a lack of God, not too much God.

Ah yes, the usual resident "but I'm NOT a Liberal you guys" morons show up with an idiotic attempt at justifying grooming.

So you think allowing kids to have organized prayer in school is the same as allowing and promoting porno in the Library and forcing kids to watching twerking men dressed as women read "Goldifks and the 3 Bears" to children?

Would do more to fix those issues than tearing down statues, so it's a start.
