If I was young and single and it was for a year or so, I would love to live in France. Nowadays, I would take Texas.

Isn't Paris in a dry county?

I would still pick Texas over france even with the threat of tornadoes.

It isn’t even a question of religion.

I had a choice of a trip to either Scotland or Paris while overseas and chose Scotland. Everything I heard from the group that went to Paris reinforced why I didn’t want to go there.

Emphasized after the fact when I had a French native as a teacher and he talked about how he was seen as a provincial putz because he was from a large city other than Paris.

I contrast this with the French I interacted with in Normandy, who were very nice and welcoming.

There are beautiful remote parts of France where I’d love to live.

Paris is a metropolitan mess.

Would choose Texas.

Just got back from Paris. I love it and typically spend 2-4 weeks in France every year. But I would rather live in the States and travel to foreign countries, so I guess Paris Tx. I just would never be there.

By a fountain, back in Rome
I fell in love with you
In a small cafe in Athens
You said you loved me too
And it was April in Paris
When I first held you close to me
Rome, Georgia, Athens, Texas
And Paris, Tennessee
No, we're not the jet set
We're the old Chevrolet set
