You have a point, but I really think the Israels have thought this out for a long time and know what they are doing. Not that a few of our suggestions from the O-T Lounge of Tigerdroppings wouldn't be better, but I think they got this.

OSINTdefender @sentdefender · 1h A Significant Excavation appears to be ongoing at the Al-Shifa Medical Complex by the Israel Defense Force, they are likely trying to Unearth the Hamas Command-and-Control Center as well as Tunnels which are beneath the Hospital.
IDF will probably have to rip up the entire structure to get to the full system of tunnels that Hamas has there.

So does that unfortunately mean that any and all hostages/terrorists are long gone?

I'm sure Israel has someone following this thread, just as the FBI has people following threads on PoliTalk.

Soldier killed, 5 wounded, in attack by gunmen at West Bank checkpoint near Jerusalem
quote:
Terrorists killed after opening fire at ‘tunnels’ checkpoint on Route 60; police: Axes, guns, ammo, IDF uniform found in their car; police chief: They planned large-scale ‘massacre’
An IDF soldier was killed and five were wounded shooting attack by Palestinian terrorists targeting the “tunnels” checkpoint on the West Bank’s Route 60, south of Jerusalem, police and medics said Thursday. Police said the three gunmen had planned to carry out a much larger massacre, in Jerusalem.
Cpl. Avraham Fetena, 20, a Military Police soldier from Haifa was critically wounded in the attack and later succumbed to his wounds at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center, the army said.
One of the victims of the attack said all the doors of a white Skoda opened at once, with each gunman shooting in a different direction, and security forces quickly returning fire.
Police said the car in which the terrorists arrived had false license plates, and identified two of them as Palestinians from the Hebron area. The Shin Bet security agency later named the two as Hamas member Abdelqader Qawasmeh, 26, and 28-year-old Hassan Qafisha, who is affiliated with Hamas and whose father was the head of the terror group’s military arm in Hebron until he was killed in 2003. The Shin Bet said it was still verifying the identity of the third gunman, but Palestinian media identified him as Nasser Kawasmeh. Hebrew media reports later said he too was affiliated with Hamas.

While I am too lazy to look this up.. I am certain we not only have boots on the ground in Israel, we also have ships in the water and f15 flying sorties..
You need to do better...

Are those the F-15s with tail hooks?

I don't believe F-15's are a naval airborne asset.. but I am not an authority on this question.
On the other hand, if my recollection is incorrect and F15's were not part of the sorties being reported.. well then maybe I need to do better..

The IDF now claims it has hit two significant underground compounds in #Gaza in which it says senior Hamas leaders were hiding.
In the first was Ahmed Al-Ghandour, commander of the Northern Gaza Strip Brigade in Hamas, and the so-called Ayman Siyam, the commander of the rocket force in Hamas.
In the second was a number of senior leaders from the political arm of Hamas including Rawhi Mushtaha, who is close to Yahya Al-Sinwar, as well as Issam Al-Dalis, who is close to Ismail Haniyeh.
IDF does not say whether they were killed, but claims Hamas is "hiding" the result of the strikes.
