Matt Gaetz: All talk

I got downvoted to oblivion for calling the dude a fraud.

I say give him one more day...votes or not, he's got to at least submit that motion to vacate. I'm guessing a lot of people have gone to him and told him that if he submits it, they'll expel him. Seems to me he should get buy-in from the others to submit the same if he's expelled, and if they expel everyone that submits one, the Republicans might find themselves out of the majority, which would compel the Dems to submit one, remove McCarthy, and take over. It would be an epic disaster for the GOPe.

He's been transparent about everything he's going to do.

Most recently, he said he's going to submit a motion to vacate and force McCarthy to get votes from Democrats to retain the speakership.

It's a hollow victory...but people need to see who McCarthy and the GOPe is actually working for.

Just like the guy he is railing against, Matt Gaetz has never really had a real job his entire adult career.

His career is politics and being a politician. He needs to keep the outrage up so he can get more campaign donations and be paid for speaking engagements.

Gaetz reminds me of a teenage girl who is constantly posting things on Facebook to get attention.

I keep seeing a lot of statements like this about him and a lot along the lines of "he's just telling people what they want to hear."

If that's the case, why aren't other people saying it and acting along similar lines of "what people want to hear"?

He's railing about spending. People have been saying here that republican voters don't really WANT spending cuts.

The narrative doesn't jibe to me.

It could be that he's the leader and the messaging runs through him.

He's genuine and passionate about this.

He's doing it to continue to raise his profile and fundraising.

He could be an attention whore that is playing people while taking their money.

Or some combination of the above.

Time will tell if he is a true believer or not.

The people here who attack Gaetz don’t want spending cuts. They want party centric rule.
