The House GOP had agreed on going to negotiations with the Senate using an 8% cut in spending as the starting point. It wouldn't have ended there, but there would have been something. Now we got nothing.

Gaetz went to the floor asking for McCarthy to give the details of the secret deal, and basically called McCarthy, Biden's bitch (aka Pelosi Light).
McCarthy is not in a good spot here. Going to the Dems to try and screw over his own party is not going to turn out well.
A little tactical patience by Gaetz is smart. Eventually though, that motion has to be filed.
Press asked Gaetz if he talked to Trump about this deal with McCarthy. He said yes but that he would keep it private.

You're never going to get them without a majority of these people, which requites a corresponding movement in the electorate.
When people like Gaetz act like this, they paint these policies as "Extreme right wing" or "MAGA insurgency" or whatever terms they use, and then the mass audience marginalizes the concept.
Hearts and minds. Still how you get long-term policy.
