Dude, it's ok if you're living on the dole. No judgement here. That's the only reason I can come up with for why you are so adamant in defending the god-damned government.

How I make a living has nothing to do with me pointing out the ignorant takes like this on this board.

Cops and elected officials get flags flown at half staff. Nobody gives a shite about any other public servant dying, and why should they? We are all just regular people like everyone else.

People seem to think government employees are all DC swamp rats, but the vast majority are regular people living across the country just trying to make a living.

They haven't gone back to work yet after COVID.

Federal government is still de facto wfh.

Learned that from a senate page who spent the summer there.

Can’t speak to DC folks but every federal employee has been going to the office for some time now

As a federal employee I would welcome this

Only after 3/4 of the desk sitters are sent packing, and those who remain are better than Baton Rouge Walmart or McDonalds employees at serving their customer - the taxpayer.

Eh. Those of us with money like stability, cops, and social norms. Not interested in your revolutions.

Yeah, who wouldn't love all those cops that enforced unconstitutional covid mandates and assaulted freedom loving people for not wearing a face diaper or trying to keep small business alive. You are thoroughly Un-American.

No. In fact, we could cut a good 85% of government jobs and be just fine.

Except your beloved cops do the bidding of the DC swamp. It was cops that shut down small businesses and ruined entire families. It was cops that arrested peacefully protesting Christians when their churches were closed. The covid scam would never have worked if these cops had obeyed the Constitution they took an oath to. But they didn't.

That's an absurd and intellectually lazy comment. I support Trump but I wouldn't compare Desantis supporters to Democrats even though they have an overlapping interest in wanting to defeat Trump. They both want him defeated but for different reasons.

Both BLM and I dislike cops but for different reasons. I don't support cops because they show blatant contempt for the Constitution and they are massive hypocrites that protect each other no matter what they do. Not because I think they are racist toward black people.

I think part of it was our desire to replace the aristocracy. Especially in the South. Thomas Jefferson hired a researcher in London to do a detailed genealogy, he wanted to say he was part of the nobility.

Anti-royalty was the whole premise of the United States. The idea was that we would all be treated equally. It sickens my stomach to see the flag lowered just because some employee or agent of the government has died. Someone who wielded power over us and in most cases made our lives worse and eroded our freedoms. Nope, when the villains fall the kingdom shouldn't weep. Unless the country is under duress, the flag should fly high.

Also, no one should be given a security detail. None of us get one. Let them pay for it themselves. They have plenty of their own money they can spend on security.

Or we could make it so all employees everywhere would have the same benefits as federal employees.

When exactly had a government employee ever had flags flown at half staff when they died?

I think they are saving that demand for a future union contract.

There is also some overlap in wanting Trump defeated

Namely because he's an incompetent piece of shite that doesn't care about any of us
