I mean, they are a net negative in my life. They could completely disappear and leave everything up to the states and locals

The only negative I can see is that I won’t be able to deer hunt on base while the government is shut down

I guess I’m just pointing out the MSM articles with titles like

“Mike McCarthy and Republicans have us on the brink of a government shut down!” - WSJ

Actually have the opposite effect on me than they intended.

IMO everyone involved in the federal government should be fired. Maybe keep the National Parks guys and gals.

Didn’t they make an exception to continue the funding?

Government is a massive employer and its contractors are in virtually every industry in existence. Perhaps you should ask those people if they mind not getting paid.

If it actually shut down, it would be fine.

Problem is that all the shite we don’t want to pay for is “essential” and the stuff that actually is useful is not, by design, to discourage shutdowns.

Government contracts these days are effectively who you know and who you blow. Do I give a flying frick if Northrup Grumman misses out on more no-bid contracts?

Yes, the operation the DoD created to fund/transfer equipment designated itself as an essential activity, so it would not be impacted.

It will suck not to get paid…and we don’t get back pay like ‘civil servants’.

Most contractors are paid a significant portion upfront and their employees won't miss any checks. What a retarded take but typical of you.

In a confederacy, the federal government only exists for two purposes

1. Foreign policy
2. National defense

Just saying
