I'm told our area got a seed-germinating rain between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM this morning. The forecast shows more rain is likely, which I feel is the most important need. With these dry conditions and sandy soil, that first rain can germinate, but it will infiltrate/dry out quickly. A second rain on Monday/Tuesday would be money.

SW MS is still getting a drizzle, perfect soaking stuff but not enough yet.
If you haven't planted in this area it is still dry enough to spread today through the weekend if forecast holds. Please Monday Please be right!

Planted about a month ago as noted at the beginning of this thread.
Confirmed we got a nice drizzle this morning with more forecasteed Monday and Tuesday. Headed up now to do a light overseed with some purple top.

We’ve gotten around 4/10 today. If we get the inch and a half they’re talking about over Monday and Tuesday we’ll be in good shape.
We’ve already been burned once this year though. So I’m waiting to see a stand before I even start to worry about fertilizer

Got a drizzle last night. Drizzling now. Planted 3 days ago. Might have just nailed it. Germinating rain now and tomorrow. Next week 2-3” in St tammany
Who am I kidding? They just want stuff in a bag

I planted mine yesterday and today in drizzling rain. Should be good if the forecast holds.

Outside of McComb supposedly got 3 inches over the last day or so. Deer lease is still pretty damn dry. Ground is absorbing everything!

Whereabouts McComb did they say 3”? I am 15 miles east of McComb and we got .06”. I don’t think anywhere around here got much more, Jackson got about .25 and Vicksburg might of got a tad more
Sure hope the forecast holds for a good soaking early next week , but it would be the first time in a while

I just saw the map of rain on the news last night and it had 3in over McComb.

We may have had a 1/2”. I’m about 10 minutes west of you.

Thinking that was the projected rainfall through next week, ain’t nobody around here got anywhere close to 3” this week , heck even collectively over the last several months we ain’t got 3”

Not lately. As dry as I’ve ever seen our place. It’ll turn into a muddy hell soon enough.

I promise you the good lord doesn’t determine his rain decisions based on what I say

Glad to hear folks are getting some rain. Hang in there. I was blessed with enough moisture in October to get things going. Here’s a pic from this morning, 32 days after planting. My 3rd fall of no-till, 2nd planting with the new GCS inoculants, bacterial and fungal. My best results ever.
