If you obtained your dog through a kennel/breeder did you get any guff from people telling you shouldn’t have gone that route?

Yes, I have had people randomly throw that question at me at the dog park during a normal convo and snub their nose.

Just tell people it’s a rescue and women will offer you sexual favors .

Great, you paid big money for an inbred dog that will probably have health problems.

The shelters are full of dogs smarter and healthier than yours, and they are just waiting to be euthanized.

People aren't giving you guff. They are just pointing out your stupidity.

No. Designer dogs (Frenchies, Labradoodles, etc.) are pretty common among people that have too much money to know what to do with. Everyone knows those dogs weren't the result of some backyard rutting.

If anyone asks, just tell them you got it from a friend out of state.

The fricking icy irony of you talking about dog health problems and posting a picture of a dog with built in breathing problems.

Since the 60's / 70's mine have all been rescues.

Modern breeders are different these days.

The fricking irony of you not knowing the dog has those problems due to inbreeding to achieve the look.

I don't particularly care what others have to say about where I got my dog. As long as I didn't lure it out of their backyard with a sausage on a string they can frick off.

Oh, so health problems that are purposefully created are just fine? I want to kick everyone that owns a flat nose dog straight in the vagina.

Who cares what these people say. If you find a good breeder who does it correctly, and want to spend your money on it then do it.

We have two pure bull dogs, a mutt, and a F1 labradoodle that the owner didn't want. They're all hilarious and as long as you give them the exercise they need, feed them decently, and socialize them they will be great dogs.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, is it?

Reread the thread. If there is someone in your household with normal intelligence. Please have them explain my post.

Mine is from a breeder
I have also fostered 3 dogs & spent many hours at the local shelter & working with a rescue group

I doubt my next one comes from a breeder but I wouldn’t give anyone shite if they chose to

ETA
my opinion is most of the dogs that end up in shelters are due to irresponsible owners letting them roam & not being fixed
They then dump puppies that roam & end up pregnant
There needs to be a bigger focus on spay & neuter programs than pushing anti breeder crap

I like German shepherds and i always will have a German shepherd.

I will always get one from a breeder. It’s not my job, calling, or moral responsibility to make sure as few dogs are euthanized as possible. I don’t want a dog because I want to rescue dogs, I want a dog because I want a specific type of dog.
