The doctors will not give a diagnosis until final pathology comes back. However, they will almost always know if it is a benign meningioma or a primary glioma (aka brain cancer) from the scans and after they start the surgery.
Fingers crossed it’s a meningioma. The other scenario would be devastating.

ETA: There are other types of brain tumors but the 2 mentioned above are the most likely by far.

Praying it’s a Meningioma also…
I had one removed in 2019 the size of a golf ball
They pretty much knew what it was after the scan.. but still had to wait on pathology after surgery
Praying for GB3

That’s a relief, but do they cover wage loss for parents, etc?

Praying for healing; it’s crushing to see someone so young stricken with such a serious condition. It makes sense now why Coach Pittman seemed anguished when he spoke about it.

Football is beyond secondary at this point. I just hope the young man can have a speedy recovery and a normal life with no further complications. If he never plays another down, that’s a more than fair trade off.

Sounds more and more like a nasal endoscopy procedure, which is best case scenario. I think they go up with a camera in one side of the nose and a small surgical scope in the other to cut out the tumor.

Again, don't be shocked if he recovers quickly and is ready to roll soon. If it does prove to be non malignant, I am not even sure if surgery recovery is his biggest hurdle, it's probably more the neurologist having concerns about how things like exertion and impact can effect his situation.

I love how Kelly said "he was clear about playing again this year, but that's just Greg brooks."

Just shows how tough he is.
He will easily beat this.

Hopefully they can do something special to show the support for Greg and his family being its the 2 programs hes be apart of playing this weekend. Maybe a 3 painted on the field with a gray ribbon behind it would be cool. Or a similar helmet sticker.
