I've shared this story on here before, but for folks who haven't seen it (and I assume they are Boston fans mainly in the thread), I have a buddy (way older than me, FTR) who is a semi-professional guitar player. He's actually a multi-instrumentalist (some bass and keys) and is featured on a number of recordings by a local niche genre artist. His first love was rock music and he was just a kid starting out when that album came out.
He told me that when he first heard More than a Feeling, he pulled his car over to listen to it, it was so distracting.

Sounds like nothing else to this day. Tom Scholz is a genius and there isn't a bad song on this.
It would get my vote of the greatest debut album of all time

Tom Scholz’s magic sauce comes from a guitar effects pedal called the hyperspace that Tom built himself. He only built a couple of them. IIRC, it’s a modified echoplex unit.

Absolute masterpiece for the ages.

I got nominated 3 days ago on one of those Facebook "10 albums than influenced your musical taste" things. Normally I don't, but I did this one... and the first one I posted was the first LP I ever bought - Boston. The rest of their catalog (and career) was a massive disappointment to me but what an amazing start.
My favorite track has always been Foreplay / Long Time. Loved the space rock instrumental intro that fit with the guitar spaceships cover.
Edit: There is actually 1 track that I didn't like, Let Me Take You Home Tonight. Just didn't have the same feel, and I realized years later it was the one track Scholz didn't write.

More than a Feeling can only be listened to properly when the volume is turned up to 11.

Pretty crazy that Delp killed himself because he got caught putting a hidden camera in his fiancee's sister's bedroom.

Well, thanks a whole hell of a lot. Now I have to drive around all day listening to this entire album. Again.

Cruisin the boat harbor in Decatur, Alabama, Friday and Saturday nights in my Galaxie 500(the ghost), I always had it blasting on my 40 watt Sparkomatic system.
