EDIT: Some parts of the story say 1974. Others say 1971. So I don't know if this is conflicting sources or just typos on the publisher's part, but I'll leave the post as-is.

Almost 50 years ago, an actress says Cosby assaulted her. And she's also suing the William Morris Agency, saying they're complicit as well.

I guess statute of limitations isn't a thing anymore.

quote:

A lawsuit for alleged sexual assault and battery has been filed against actor/stand-up comedian Bill Cosby by actress Linda Ridgway-Whitedeer citing a 1971 audition encounter between the pair.

Ridgway-Whitedeer alleges Cosby forced her to perform oral sex on him during what was supposed to be an audition according to a copy of the complaint, which was reviewed by PEOPLE and revealed in a report published Thursday.

The lawsuit also accuses William Morris Endeavor (WME), then known as William Morris Agency, of negligence on the grounds Cosby and Ridgway-Whitedeer were both clients of the agency at the time.

The actress’ suit claims WME should’ve been more aware of his alleged conduct, the report state

In these type cases many states have in fact removed them.

California, New York and even Louisiana passed laws to pause the statue of limitations. This has allowed every ambulance chaser to file frivolous lawsuits. In California, the kid on the Nevermind album cover sued Nirvana claiming it was child porn and then later the actors in the Romeo and Juliet movie sued Paramount claiming it too was child porn. In New York, Democrats paused the statue of limitations to enable E Jean Carroll to sue Trump for rape (her story was later discovered to have been stolen from a Law And Order episode).

These recent Cosby accusers have been ridiculous. The last one claimed she got raped by Cosby in 1974 at the Playboy mansion and she remembered that she played the Donkey Kong arcade game while she was there. The problem with her story.....Donkey Kong wasn't released until 1981.

None of them will ever get any money from Cosby. He long ago moved all of his wealth over to an LLC controlled by his wife:

Whether it is 1971 or 1974, this is a grave injustice and an absurdity.

I 100% believe Pill Cosby is/was a serial rapist.

That said, I loathe the trend we've seen with women waiting years or decades to ever bring allegations. That's crazy and shouldn't be allowed if there is no real evidence and is only he said/she said bullshite.

According to a quick search, the statute of limitations in California should be 10 years. Would be interested to see how they could get around that.

By the way here is the complaint.

quote:

16. Plaintiff arrived at the filming location in Los Angeles anticipating a meeting with
the director and other individuals generally involved in the casting process, similar to her
experience on previous auditions and the standard practice in the industry at the time. Immediately
upon her arrival, Plaintiff was met by Defendant Cosby and quickly ushered into the empty
director’s office. As Plaintiff was standing in the doorway to the office, Defendant Cosby stated in
a commanding voice, “Have a seat!.” Upon entering the office, Plaintiff observed an empty
swivel chair abutting the door, so close that it required moving in order to enter the room.

17. As Plaintiff sat down, realizing she would have to move the chair to where the desk
was located, Plaintiff looked down to place her purse on her lap while grasping her portfolio.
Before she could relocate the chair to the desk, Plaintiff felt Defendant Cosby’s hand grab her hair
behind her head. Defendant Cosby was facing Plaintiff with his back to the now closed door, so
that if anyone were to enter, they would not be able to see what was happening within. As Plaintiff
looked up, she observed Defendant Cosby had removed his penis from his pants and before
Plaintiff could react, Defendant Cosby forced his penis into Plaintiff’s mouth before ultimately
ejaculating on her face, clothing and hair.

18. Plaintiff, unable to breathe and in shock from what had just transpired, was unable
to react. Defendant Cosby used a tissue to attempt to wipe his semen from Plaintiff’s face.

19. Still in shock, Plaintiff was escorted to her car by Defendant Cosby. As she gripped
the steering wheel, cheeks streaked with tears, Defendant Cosby, still next to the car, quickly
retreated, passing in front of Plaintiff’s car as he walked away.

I wonder what his conduct was on the Cosby show.

Was he just a totally different person there? Or was he a creepy dude around his tv family as well.
