The parish cleaned the roadside ditch on my property. My driveway culvert is about 75% clogged. Any tips to clean this out it’s a concrete culvert?

Maybe shove a pvc pipe through with a small rope attached first?

The old tire method is #1

#2 would be a pressure washer and a jet attachment. These can be bought for less than 100$ on Amazon. For one time use it will work fine.

Then leave it there in a way you can easily access when you’re done

Where do you live? A lot of times if the parish is coming through cleaning ditches, you can ask for your driveway to be put on a list for their jet truck.

I would think hydraulics will take care of it over the next couple of decent rains.

The next video: “How to get an old tire out of a culvert.”

I’d recommend tying a chain to the back side, too.

Without knowing how long his culvert is, I will withhold judgment. Pushing a rope or chain through 30 or 40 feet of a mostly clogged culvert is probably no easy task.

Sewer Jetter for Pressure Washer however I don't think thing it would work very well on on culvert. It's designed to be used on pipe 4" or smaller. It would take forever to clean out a large diameter pipe.

If it's not completely clogged, I guess the PVC pipe thing can work. If you can get the PVC thru, you could then feed a cable or chain through that.

I have a problem on my street, a couple houses down from mine- it's clogged and water doesn't drain past that point. I reported it to 311 a couple years back, it's still 'pending'.
This sucks, because the yards on my street get basically flooded until things seep away, while the ditches on the end of the street- probably under 200 yards away- are over 5 feet deep, and feed into a bigger one over 10 ft deep. There should be zero backup, that shite should flow.

I reposted with the original YouTube link.

My dad has used this method to clean culverts on our farm for years. Items used: an old tire, some chain, a long sucker rod, a tractor and a Cajun!

What's the inside diameter and length of the culvert?

ETA: your options change considerably, depending on this.

3/4 pvc pipe (as long as you need)...attach small rope to it's end (paracord)...shove through culvert...tie rope to chain...pull chain through.

That's satisfying to watch.

But, what happens if the chain breaks when the tire is halfway through?
