What local and national news, sports and weather broadcasters did you grow up with?

Little bit of a nostalgia thread. For me it was:
Local:
News: Alec Gifford with his slicked back hair.
Sports: The immortal Buddy Diliberto and Hap Glaudi. I remember reading that when the Saints had training camp at (I think) Southeastern that Buddy would sleep in and do his segments and interviews wearing a suit jacket and tie and pajama bottoms and they would shoot him from the chest up.
Weather: Al Duckworth. I would say Nash Roberts, but I don't know if I'm remembering his regular newscasts or when they'd bring him back for hurricanes.
National:
News: Walter Cronkite. A legend.
Sports: The one and only Howard Cossel.
Weather: I don't really remember them having national weathermen before Al Roker.

Is this an old people’s thread? Do you need an AARP card to comment on this one?

Local guys I remember was John Mahaffey (spelling?), Ed Buggs, and Pat Shingleton in WBRZ. Then there was Donna Britt, George Sells, and Mike Graham on WAFB. My old mine like Graham’s forecasts better than Shingleton. National evening news guys I remember was Dan Rather, Ted Koppel, and Peter Jennings.
Wish they had guys like Ed Murrow, Eric Sevareid, Edward Douglas, Charles Collingwood, John Daley, and Cronkite again. Yeah, Cronkite was on the left but he didn’t really show it until Vietnam.

Jack McCall and June Taylor, Good Morning Arklamiss. There were people who wouldn't make a move until Jack gave his weather report. The rest of the show was Jack bitching about one thing or another while June sat there rolling her eyes. They weren't married but they were exactly like an old married couple. June finally retired and Jack ran off a succession of female cohosts until they brought June back.

He and Br. Fromyer’s commercials will always be legendary.

Local weather was Pat Shingleton on channel 2 and Mike Graham on channel 9. I remember when Victor Howell did sports but then he started doing car dealership commercials.
