I crossed the obese threshold at 15 years old, as a high school sophomore offensive lineman.

As of my weekly weighing this morning, my BMI is 29.9.

At my heaviest, about 15 years ago, my BMI was 41.

I am now simply very overweight lol

It’s been a lot of drops and plateaus, falling off and on the wagon of eating better and moving around more. But an overall very slow trend down.

I’m not a bodybuilder or anything. Just trying to get to a healthy weight.

My first goal was to not be obese, now my second goal is to not be overweight.

Congrats!!!

I too am on a weight loss journey. I'm about 5 pounds from having a BMI 30, so hopefully that happens soon. My next goal will be to get below 200, which I haven't been in over 30 years.

Such a great feeling the first time you step on the scale and the reading starts with 1.

Now get you a backpack, put some weights in it and start walking. The lbs will fall off.

They make weighted vests and some have inserts to add/remove weight.

For CrossFit I believe it’s typically women 12lbs and men 20lbs.

I’m considering getting one. The wife and I are training for a half marathon in a month and I was thinking about getting one to put on for some of the weekday shorter runs.

Awesome bro

I will say instead of focusing on not being overweight according to bmi, now that you are no longer obese, focus on adding muscle and getting bodyfat below 20% of next year or two

if you can, find a place that does dexa scan. I know tulane use to do them for free as part of an osto study, used to give a $100 gift card to walmart too lol.

but dexa scan or inbody scan or bod pod would be best. just gives you a starting point, from there, work to improve slowly and consistently over time.
