Funny thing, Michigan is #47 and Wisconsin is #60. But UM is #179 and Wisky is #241 in "comfort expressing ideas." Seems that should count for more.

Tulane is in top 20 for comfort expressing ideas but rated 11th worse overall. Does the "comfort" stem from liberal students getting to express ideas to an overwhelmingly liberal faculty?

It sickens me to see Free Speech Alley LSU fall so far down. Although it’s been quite a while since I was on a college campus, I always remember LSU as being quite free and open in freedom to speak your mind, regardless of your views. Matter of fact, I remember LSU as being voted the most Reagan like university back in the 90’s by somebody, I can’t remember who. In any case, it’s a sad shadow of its former self I suppose.

On economic issues, Auburn has a high ranking because the presence of the Mises Institute which is the one the leading think tanks on free speech of free market capitalismm.
Louisiana Republicans tend to be more economically left leaning than conservatives in other states due to its' large Catholic population and high rates of union membership. You see it a lot on this board and the OT.

If you are a Union member and you don't vote Trump, you ain't American.

My Roth and 401's soared from 2017-2020/21. Now, not so much.
