This is crazy. I’m a dude with no hormonal issues but I started a caloric deficit diet 3 weeks ago and have already lost 10 pounds.
This ain’t rocket science folks. Big pharma just trying to make a buck. Long term effects be damned

mean most things, even cancer, can be attributed to lifestyle choices and BF%....should we just stop trying to treat disease?
They definitely won't stop creating drugs to treat it. There is too much money in it.

so in your opinion should we stop all development of medicine because could drive the price up?
It's more on a difference in which medicines are being developed. The diabetic drugs being co-opted for weight loss are a gold mine for the pharmaceutical companies. Sure, some may see the results and make changes where long term use won't be needed, but most will not and this will be a multi-billion dollar industry moving forward.
It's funny how the MSM/Pharma shite on Ivermectin use in early treatment of Covid, yet they developed a drug that does the same thing but in a different way: Paxlovid.

cool some have hormonal issues
others are not you
how does others taking this medicine affect you?

Even if I didn’t know who you were I’d be absolutely certain you were a Covidian
I hope you aren’t a physician. People need to pursue normal, healthy ways to lose weight. Stop placating fatties with quick fixes. They need to change their bad habits.

i mean its kind of supply and demand. basic capitalism and the whole point of sinking millions into R&D of a drug is to make money in the long run

why does it matter
ok a drug that was originally developed for diabetes show promise for weight loss and there is a ton of demand for it
why in the hell shouldnt a company come out with it?
especially when we know all of the health issues that come from being obese?
who cares if its a multi billion dollar industry? i mean is it an issue that other drugs have become a multi billion dollar industry?
what if these drugs stop so many from being reliant on other drugs like statins, those for blood pressure, drugs for depression, other diabetic drugs, painkillers for joint pain etc etc etc ?

this is a whole other issue in and of itself. nobody should listen to shite the msm says. they are like doctors, most are fat as frick and have zero clue.

anything but bro. anything but. again as usual you run your mouth without having any clue wtf you are talking about.
i just dont see this as anything different from hormonal treatment, cialis, viagra, taking OTC fat burners etc

im not a physician but you dont know what the frick you are talking about. how about go look at some of my post on the H&F board before you go running your mouth
talk about bad habits, you are fat and on here giving advice on health. maybe you should learn to change your bad habits longer than 3 weeks before running your mouth.

skinny population that largely cheated
Its not cheating. The issue is we as a society have become fricking lazy. With everything. People can 'fix' most of their health issues but the 'want' is not there because why would I want to be healthy and in shape when I can just take all these prescription medications for blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, heart medications etc, and continue to be a fat slob and shovel food down my throat all day? There are MD's willing to write as many prescriptions as necessary to enable these obese slobs. Nobody tells them "hey fatso you can change your diet and exercise and get off 5 of these 6 prescriptions you are on" instead Dr's will just write 100 prescriptions. Its literal insanity.

People complain about fatties on planes, restaurants, stores, health insurance, food stamps, etc. Now they come out with a pill to help combat that - now people complain they are too lazy and not doing the weight loss the right way! Never change OT, never change.

Can't eat high fat items due to gallbladder issues. Allergic to eggs.
Plant baw.
Tried a local CrossFit like program last year for 3 months with diet plan. Couldn't consistently cook meals I wanted to eat due to time constraints.

Maybe, just maybe, if insurance is covering the meds and prices are really high, then all of us are going to see an increase in premiums.

FTR i actually agree with you on pretty much everything you and 01 have said
i just dont think its living in reality and them taking this medicine doesnt affect me and i dont get the whole cheated thing like many others get all pissy about.
i just dont have a lot of hope people are suddenly going to wake up and start eating healthy and lifting weights, just isnt going to happen.
if this medicine can help push people to that and become more healthy overall...have at it. doesnt affect me negatively in any way and only can affect me positively.

Obesity is already causing rises in our premiums. Most obese people are on disability, food stamps. Who do you think pays for that?

now in some cases on here...its people wanting others to make healthier lifestyle choices and just be better overall in life. I certainly understand that, but its not living in reality.
This is pretty much where I stand on this and I agree sadly at least in America expecting people to diet and exercise is just not reality anymore. Too many excuses and quick fixes out there. I blame the Medical Community and our Government who have taken personal responsibility out of the equation when it comes to health and fitness. So many lies, untruths, outdated ways of doing things they still promote and it is literally turning people into obese slobs.

Of course we do. Now, you think this med will get them off disability and food stamps? Not likely, so it will add to the costs.
I believe this med will help many people and I also believe that it will add to the cost of healthcare if it gets to be a mainstay within the population at the prices that have been reported.

so assuming you are working in operations? if so you have plenty of damn time to cook at work. even if not, buy pre-cooked meals

plenty of other healthy items for breakfast

again pre cooked meals. could be from a meal prep place or even buying the precooked chicken from sams and using microwavable veggies and pre cut fruit.
i dont give a frick if you like the taste.....i refer you to CT Fletcher about that LINK

how about dont worry about doing CF....since you have time constraints do the following
get a pullup bar
get a set of gymnastic rings
set of bands
10 min warmup-
1) 25 broom stick shoulder dislocates
2) Bear crawl -20 yards
3) reverse bear crawl 20 yards
4) crab walk- 10 yards
5) duck walk- 10 yards
6) 50 banded face pulls
7) 100 strict jumping jacks
10-15min circuit- as many rounds as possible
1)ring pushups- 10 reps
2) Chin ups- 5 reps
3) Air Squats- 15-20 reps
4) ring rows- 10 reps
5) Walking lunges or rev lunges- 10 reps each leg
20-25 min and you can easily do this 3-4x per week
stop using time as an excuse

maybe but if the overall cost to the insurance company is less because people get off other medicines.....maybe just maybe...that makes the prices go down.

This. There are many places now that will do good, healthy meals for you for about $75-$100 week.

I buy 18 meals from Factor about every other week and they are awesome.
I supplement them with home cooked stuff so I'm not dropping $150 every week, but $300-$325 for 36 great meals per month is a deal.
Trifecta sucks, don't try them. Bland AF and you will be hungry within an hour or two.

Imagine having to take a pill to lose weight when all you have to do is simply eat a little less food and move around more.
Obese people are damned if they do & damned if they don't. If they use the med and it works, who cares? Hopefully, it changes some habits along the way.
It's no different than using supplements to get more muscle, etc.
