I talked to a kid that other day that was offered a chance to play basketball there. He said they would pay half the tuition. I think that would roughly put him on the hook for 15,000 a year out of pocket.

That sounds about right. My son got an “offer” to play baseball and we would still have to come out of pocket $14k and they don’t accept TOPS, or have dormitories. Plus it’s in fkn Crowley with no real campus.

1. Is there a roster anywhere?
2. Do they have any other coaches besides Coach Lee?

Any parent that pays even $1 to send their child is failing them.

LA Tech for an accredited online Bachelor’s degree is only $5k a year (30 credits) for out of state online tuition!

Delgado for an accredited online JUCO is less. They will take anyone.

How exactly does a high school graduate think a non-accredited college at that tuition price is going to put them in a more successful position for their future?

Some absolute Bishop Sycamore lies of “you just need more film” and can transfer being told to these “student athletes”.

You can click the drop down for each sport and it’ll pull the rosters.

They claim to have over 200 student athletes, so if they really are getting $14,000 per student from these people then yea someone is getting rich on this scam.

The “roster” tab on the football page pulls up the volleyball roster, which shows a head coach but no players.

I hate that John’s name is tied to this. Apparently his sister is married to the guy who started this “school”.

A huge scam to fleece parents so their kiddos can play "college" athletics. "University" President is a grifter and has done this before.

Student athletes and parents - please speak to your current coaches and get the real story on this place before falling for their game and going into debt.

I want to be sensitive on how I say this. However, look at the baseball roster. They are preying mostly on small rural town kids (whose parents probably never got a chance to go to college).

Google and you will see there are loans for non-accredited schools.

I would love to see what these poor parents are putting up as collateral for their kids to go out and get embarrassed 80-0 on a football field.

I just looked it up, and you are correct. Holy Patriot University in Beaumont.

quote:

BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont faith-based university that has been operating for less than a year announced a major change.

Holy Patriot University announced it will no longer have an active sports department. The announcement followed a slew of complaints from parents of students, who claimed the school did not deliver on its promises.

In April 2022, university officials announced it would operate in Beaumont. Back in April, founder and president of Holy Patriot University David Angeron said athletics would be an integral part of Holy Patriot University’s vision.

School officials had big plans for their student-athletes.

University officials spent the spring and summer of 2022 recruiting coaches and student-athletes for several different programs. Leaders even worked out a deal for student-athletes to train at Golden Triangle Sports academy.

While recruiting efforts were underway, university representatives were still looking for an office space to rent. While the classes the university does offer are completely online, officials wanted a "common space" available for students to work.

University leaders eventually settled on South Baptist Park Church. However, when it came to a space for athletes to train consistently, the university fell short.

According to Angeron, the school was unable to pay for the practice space after students began dropping out and tuition was not being paid on time.

That picture does not flatter her. She’s the real deal in person.

She’s in her 40s and I’m sure that’s why people don’t see her the way I do.
