Please see below statement from Marathon Petroleum: Marathon Petroleum personnel and local emergency responders are currently responding to a naphtha release and fire at a storage tank at the company’s Garyville, Louisiana, refinery. The release and fire are contained within the refinery’s property and there have been no injuries. As a precaution, air monitoring has been deployed in the community. No off-site impacts have been detected. All regulatory notifications have been made. As always, our main priority is to ensure the safety of our employees and contractors, our neighbors within our surrounding community, first responders, and to limit environmental impact. An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the release.

That seems to be one of the fastest and best urgent message I’ve ever seen from a plant here in South LA. Usually they release like 3 sentences saying something happened, fire and EMS are here, and we’ll give you more info later.

You obviously aren't familiar with the physical properties of a chain link fence.

And they'll learn from a legal standpoint, releasing this much information this early is a bad idea. There is a reason why others only release 3 sentences that follow the same lay out. "We are aware, we are taking preventative measures, and we will report additional information once available."

You think a company like Marathon does not know how to handle PR’s and the legalities of their industry??
