I used about a dozen rides via Uber and Lyft last week in Dallas and had zero issues with price or service.

Just got to BNA from the Gulch. Like I said, $21. Maybe I got lucky with the time of day.

I was in NYC for work last month. Uber was like a magic trick.

Like there was an Uber driver waiting around every corner no matter where you were.

SO taxi drivers?

But I have a long memory of taxi drivers and how they acted in the Nola area before Ubers came along, so screw them

So many times denied a ride uptown because they didn't want to do it. It wasn't about pricing for me. frick those guys.

Airports are a good cab market because unless you time the Uber request right, for example, while deplaning, you may have to wait while cabs are usually right there waiting.

Flew into Columbus, OH a few months ago. Used Uber at 1am when we landed to the hotel. 6.4 miles. $72

This depends on length of trip, but I always drive my own car and park at my home airport. The cost of a ride in an Uber/cab is about 2 or 3 days of parking anyways, so might as well have convenience.

VRBO and AirBnB are also worthless now. Find a condo for $400 a night, then they tack on a $300 cleaning fee, $150 processing fee, etc.

Disagree. Still a lot of great deals to be found here, and a lot of hotels do the same fees these days. At least nicer ones do

I uber some of my workers to and from work (long story)

They live on Millerville and Uber picks them up at 6:30 and drops them near Home Depot on Highland.

In the afternoon, Uber picks them up at Home Depot on Highland at 4 and takes them home at Harrells Ferry and Millerville.

Morning ride $30
Afternoon ride $40

Every day.

*they pay for that shite btw, not me.

Not for more than 5 minutes, but it's for sure less time than I ever spent waiting on the f@$*% parking lot bus to get my truck. I don't even know where the cab stand is at IAH.

We were using Uber to get to IAH for a while but after a couple bad experiences with Uber drivers/vehicles and Rideshare pickup at IAH can be a cluster.

Ubers to Manhattan to JFK are $100-$150 depending on where you are. Has legitimately been more expensive than my flight on a trip in the past. Outrageous.

I'm not sure what is going on. My Lyft in April was perfectly fine and normal. My pickup at IAH last month (also Terminal D) was utter BS.

But still better than a taxi or waiting on the Parking Spot bus.

My 4 Uber drivers on my most recent business trip to Florida:

-1 was a bodyguard for a politician in New York

No idea why they feel the need to explain themselves haha

I drive Uber/Lyft on my commute home. I try my best not to let my passengers know what I do for my real job(software engineer). I receive tips on 40-45% of my rides. When my passengers find out my "real" job from the course of the conversation (I'm a rather chatty driver), that number goes down to below 10%.

And they want you to put the dishes in the washer, take out the trash, gather up all the dirty towels etc before you leave. Plus leave a tip for the cleaning crew. It's ridiculous.

Damn, a lot of Reds fans in here at the moment!

I agree with VRBO & AirBNB. AirBnB "unverified" my identity, and no amount of copies of my passport or pictures of me throwing gang signs got them to reauthorize me. I asked one owner if she was OK with me shagging a chick at the property (I used different words), and she canceled the reservation.

Air Tran to Long Island Railroad. Long Island Railroad to Grand Central Madison on the corner of 47th St and Madison Ave. Puts you basically in the center of Manhattan.
