info do I need to fully enjoy the new series?
Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm say the force is female
Fanbois are gonna light you up, but I agree. The show is mostly watchable, but you can't deny it's a total bosss gurrrrrrrrrl powerrrrr *snap* show.
Some things they might say:
YOU DIDN'T READ THE COMICS, IT'S CANON!!
YOU DIDN'T WATCH THE ANIMATED SERIES

I stand by your side on this matter. While expressing this might lead to a flurry of unpopular downvotes, I've consistently believed that integrating animation into a canonical series alongside live-action films is a misstep. These two mediums attract distinct audiences.
Two days ago, I would have agreed with you. But, I watched the ten or so episodes from Clone Wars and Rebels that were listed.
quote:
Dave Filoni said to watch these to prepare: Clone Wars S5 E20 S7 E9-12 Rebels S1 E15 S2 E18 S2 E21-22 S4 E13 S4 E15
I watched these in this order. The first CW episode wasn’t great (S5 E20), but once the four episode arc began I was absolutely hooked (S7 E9-12). The dialog was not the typically choppy and overly emotional cartoon variety, but was on par with that of any live action production. The story was tight. Aside from the obvious cartoon appearance of human characters, the visuals were solid.
At this point, I don’t really have plans to go watch the rest of the series. But I will say that I too was skeptical of watching 11 episodes of a cartoon, and was proven wrong.

I haven't seen Rebels, but as it's the same creative team, I can see that taking a similar progression.
I'm about halfway through S3 now and it's definitely picked up a bit. The end of S2 (the last two episodes, but especially the last one) was something anyone who watched Clone Wars would want to see.

Congrats. You succinctly described blueboy.

Rebels was just too kiddie for me.
You must not have made it very far into the show. There was hardly anything kiddie at all about Rebels after the first season. The last season was very mature.

The best aspect of CW was giving the clones a story. You spend years rooting form them, then Order 66 hits and you just say, "No, that guy won't turn. No!"
shite was heartbreaking. These guys literally painted her likeness on their helmets.

The force may not be female but apparently, the new republic damn sure is. Two episodes in and all the main characters are women and totally badasses . And of course, the only competent male just happens to be a bad guy. There definitely seems to be a certain narrative.

Just came out of two massive galaxy wide wars in two generations... Maybe many of the powerful males are dead.

You're an idiot.
ANyone who follows Star Wars knows who Ahsoko is, as well as Sabine. this stupid crap needs to stop. If you're that ridiculous with your "everyone has to be male" then you should be watching in anticipation for Ezra.
Also, i've said it before, i was the same way about not wanitng to watch a cartoon as an adult. If you love Star Wars, i guarantee you'll love Clone Wars and Rebels. I was highly skeptical of watching them, and i didn't really like it at first, but once it gets going, it really is great. Power through the first season, much like you have to do with any good show.

I'm confused by the plot.... Apparently there is a coded map which needs to be unlocked to find thrawn....
Is thrawn lost?
Why is there a 1300 year map to find a guy who was killed or something like in the previous few years?

Seems that’s the story with most of the new Kennedy helmed SW stuff. I can see her in a room saying, and there’s this map.

And you are a fool. I have watched every episode of CW at least once, including the movies(2003 & 2008). Have also watched every episode of Rebels with my kid. I am well aware of who Asoka and other characters are. I enjoyed how her character grew in CW. I even read the comics back in the day.
That doesn't change what I said how 2 episodes into this show they have only introduced one solid male character. And he is of course a bad guy. It's a similar formula to the other crap Kennedy has thrown out there.
And,where did I say they everyone had to be a male? I'm not asking for that. Nor am I asking for every one to be a heroine.

It's a map of purgill migration. The working assumption is that they took Ezra and Thrawn to their home, so finding a map to where Purgill's migrate to will lead them to where Thrawn is stranded.
It was in an ancient witches temple because the witches of Dathomir are rumored to have originated from the same place as purgills.

Why does this matter to you then?
It's a show with a female lead. Why would you expect anything different?
That's like watching the first 2 episodes of the Mandalorian and complaining that all the main people are male.
Did you even watch the first 2 episodes here? DO you honestly think the one solid male character is the bad guy, with his orange, not red light saber, and him saying how much he respects Ashoka? If anything, after the first two episodes he looks to be like a character that is going to play a very pivotal role in this show, and likely in a positive way. His padawan is the one that seems like the straight up bad guy that isn't changing sides.
Just shut up about the force is female crap until the season is over with. If the show sucks, then you can bitch all you want.

then what the frick are you asking for, and why are you even asking it?

Esquire - Ahsoka Review: It's Time to Say Goodbye to the Star Wars You Knew

The newest entry in the galaxy far, far away is Ahsoka—which could use a little more of the franchise's signature simplicity, charm, and heart.

Why the F does my opinion of the show matter to you? Who the F are you, K Kennedy's butt plug? I gave my opinion. You interpret the show however the F you like. And I will do the same.
How about your basic Mitch arse just watch the show and not worry about how others feel. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Cause the female force is definitely leaking out of your panties.
