Hopefully I can swing upgrading to something like that one day.

My boat is great. It's a spectacular do everything boat. It just gets small on you when it starts to blow.

I really like the look of these when I've seen them, but don't know anyone with one. Sounds like you've enjoyed it, but build quality is good and no issues? I'll be looking for a 24ish bay soon. It may make me too confident, as I already run a 20' bay boat all over like a scalded dog.

Its really a fishing machine. It is laid out well and has tons of livewell space. I have 2, 30 gallon wells in the back , a small well up front and a 40 gallon aquarium tank. Each has its own pump. I can carry tons of bait. The front deck is huge and it has plenty of storage.

Now for the issues. I did have a good many "workmanship" issues with it when I first got it. I wont lie to you. They worked with me and made it right. Like most manufacturers right now, they have labor issues that need to be fixed.

But since I worked through them and got it all set up, I am extremely happy with my purchase. The boat works flawless now. Im running a little lower pitch prop on mine (17) and it calls for a 19. Still getting 53mph out of it loaded. It has a hydraulic jack-plate and trim tabs.

The ride is pretty good but it is a bay boat and a tad shallow. It will get in skinny water pretty good and I do take it 50 miles out but like stated before, I do watch the weather and pick my days.

The wife and I are working on a few last minuet details now but we are planning to trailer over to Ft Lauderdale soon and take it to Bimini. 52 miles across the Atlantic and stay a week. Just need a weather window

Its a solid boat. I would not call it a premium boat. More of a price point but I am very happy with it.

We've touched 50 miles before in mine. That's too damned far on a single engine. I dont think there's extreme risk of death or anything like that with all the safety equipment we have and the workboat traffic picking back up. Once I get past 30-35 miles I just start getting nervous. That's getting on more than an hour run back in, and giving the weather enough time to get snotty while I'm looking the other way.

My issues with my boat are definitely centered more around the engine and the operator and not the capabilities of the boat.

Here it never just lays flat. Takes me 2 hours usually to go 50 miles.

And I agree, it makes me nervous as well. shite happens and no amount of safety gear will save us if we can’t stay calm and use our heads.

i have a 24 blue wave pure bay and it does what i need it to do, inshore to offshore on good days. yes its mass produced with less quality than others but my 2020 has been great.

i like the new clarksound 24 hybrid. they are making a 28 next year. the 24 is around 170k fully rigged and loaded.

the blackjack coastal is a great boat as well but the 150k price tag is tough to swallow for that boat.

the costa 264 is the top dream boat for me in the hybrid lineup for sure.

i love the bluewave 28 with twins but honestly i don't offshore fish enough to justify it for the price. hell all boats are overpriced now imo. my boat price is 30k more than 3 years ago.

i could have sold mine for 100 and didnt because replacing it would be insane for a larger boat.

i see alot of overpriced boats or sale but someone is buying them.

a rolled gunnel 24 blazer is over 100k new now and thats insane to me

So?

You aren't getting 30 miles offshore in a 250hp surf board. Just don't bother fishing the shallow ponds. We're fishing not mud riding.

Exactly my point. The question was for a boat for both shallow inshore and near shore fishing. There is no boat that does both. The best redfishing is in those shallow ponds.

If I were not buying a new house right now, and my wife would let me, I would buy this boat. Bay 2700. I think it is the perfect boat for inshore, offshore in my area. It would also satisfy the family obligations just nicely.

Earl hit a homer again by doing Camas. The bass boats are excellent as well. My good friend owns a dealership in Georgia that sells them and Tidewater as welll as Skeeter.

He has great things to say about the Camas but man they are pricey...... Close to 300K rigged.

I have a 27' boat with twins and I'll tell you its a BIG step up from a 24' or so bay boat with a single. In MANY ways, good and bad. For the average weekend fisherman, IMO its really hard to beat something like a 24ish foot bay boat for multipurpose. My dad has a bay boat and I have multiple friends with the 21-25 ft off shore boat, so I wanted to take that next step.

Its a great boat and I love it, big casting platform. 36v trolling motor will spot lock in 2-3s, etc.

BUT, towing her is a biatch with a gas 1/2 ton. Its not horrible, but its also not a bay boat. Its noticeable. Twin engines require a good bit more work, everything is more expensive, etc. Its also not really a single person launchable boat. So, fishing by myself is not really possible. Again, something you could more easily do in a smaller bay boat.

I've been out in snotty seas and its sure safer, but its not really any more fun. I'm simply tossing all this out there to remind everyone with big bay boats that the grass is not always greener on a bigger boat.
