I’ve watched the first two seasons of Clone Wars and none of Rebels. I feel like I’m going to be lost

You’ll probably miss the Easter eggs and the impacts won’t be as deep (when Ezra makes an appearance for example).

I haven't seen a single episode of either but I'll give it a shot since Rosario Dawson is starring.

Dave Filoni said to watch these to prepare:
Clone Wars
S5 E20
S7 E9-12

Rebels
S1 E15
S2 E18
S2 E21-22
S4 E13
S4 E15

Really all of S4 is great, and apparently will set up Ahsoka perfectly

I heard a review from someone who had early access to the first two episode saying that if you liked Rebels then you will like Ahsoka. I loved Rebels, so I hope that is true. Same reviewer said he felt that the characters stayed true to their Rebels/Clone Wars versions. Even if you haven’t watched Rebels and/or Clone Wars, that should be welcome news because those shows are fantastic.

I struggled for probably the first 20 minutes to connect with the characters. They look and move too different from the animated versions. Not Disney's fault, just is what it is.

After that though, it was enjoyable. Action was good and the story builds. I enjoyed the blonde villain, but the old dude villain just didn't do it for me. His story is fine, but the acting was just... off. Movements too rigid, etc.

Overall it's a really good start.

One episode down and you can already tell the production value on this kicks the shite out of Book of Boba Fett and Obi Wan

Honestly, I have to agree. I tired to be as objective as possible, but this was incredibly boring.

Acting and writing have been an absolute joke in Disney's Star Wars shows, and that continues to be the case here. Some of the set pieces (such as the temple early in episode I) are so cheaply done that they don't even look remotely real.

You should tell that to him now.

I mean none of these characters are out of place. They all had well established backgrounds and stories and are behaving just as they would in Rebels. It’s not like they were created just for the sake of “more women.”

Plus, the show is named after a badass female character. If you’re worried or surprised that it would have girl power then I’m not sure what to tell you.

ETA: and I’m not even trying to render a verdict on the show. It’s still too early for me to tell - but whether I like it or not won’t be determined because women.

Plus, there's no way either of the posters saying "girl power snooze fest" watched both episodes that came out less than 2 hours ago.

It's because he never watched CW or Rebels. 1st episode was great. You really need the back story to follow.

That blonde Sith apprentice looks like she could be a 4th Olsen sister.

Not sure when we’re allowed to post spoilers but without getting into anything too specific I think Qui Gon’s force ghost must be pissed at all the people that have survived similar or worse injuries than he did.

It’s also important to remember that the two main male characters from Rebels, which this show is building upon, are both gone. Of that Rebels group, the majority of the characters left are females.

This is exactly what I expected this thread to be filled with after watching.

Some studio could make a huge new $250 million epic about Joan of Arc, or Queen Boudicca as historically accurate as possible, with whomever is the best and most promising young actress, and this board would respond with a collective “Oh, no…muh girl power, no way that would have happened.”
