He's a stud. I saw him some last year, and liked what I saw and envisioned with another year of work. He's a different animal this year.

PBR has a showcase tomorrow at Miley in Metairie for 28 and 29 kids. Looks to be about 40 kids. I'll probably go check it out.

I'm familiar with alot of the local kids. Several of the kids from the Girard 11/12 Dixie Youth team that won the world series will be there. I've seen alot of the Houma area kids, too. Tre Morgan's younger brother will be there.

Not sure if this is all of them but I believe Kling, Herring and Shores are draft eligible sophomores. Maybe project or someone else can confirm and add any others.

Chase Shores is not a draft eligible for 24 draft . Guidry is . Kling and Herring are as well . Think that’s it for 22 class

Just looked it up. Kling and Herring are definitely eligible. Guidry turns 21 on July 14th. Jones turns 21 on August 1st. The draft is July 9-11. The only rule I can find on the MLB website says that a player has to be 21 before the draft to be eligible so I don't know. Everyone else other than those 4 are definitely not eligible including Neal, Shores, and Noot.

He'll be nearly 19 on Draft day, which will hurt him in the eyes of age-minded clubs and make him eligible as a Louisiana State sophomore in 2024 if he attends college.

This is from Jones draft profile coming out of HS. Maybe the deadline moved, but he was supposed to be a DES.

I think the rule is if you are 21 within 45 days of the draft you are eligible. Project will correct me if I'm wrong on the amount of days but they have a grace period and that is why Guidry and Jones are eligible.

Kling, Guidry, Herring, and Jones are the DES this year.

Baseball America put out an article on the 2025 draft and the best tools among the prep players in that draft.

Marcos Paz has the 5th best fastball. He also has the best breaking ball. Oh, he also has the 4th best changeup.

He's the only guy listed in all three categories. He's not listed in the top 5 for control though. So there's that.

They changed it from the 45 day rule to just August 1st. Jones' birthday is August 1st. All the others mentioned are before that.

Does that mean Jones is or is not draft eligible?

He is. We have some other August birthdays that could have been under the old rules (depending on when the draft is) but he's the youngest DES we have.
