We had the same thing happen 3 weeks ago on an entry door. There was no bird laying near it, no rock or debris, the door is over 40 yards from any point where the neighbor would be moving and at an angle that would be almost impossible to be hit by a rock from his mower.
Outer glass shattered but never fell out, the glass pane was about 65” tall and about 26” wide and a custom design door so not just a rectangle, the best replacement price was $1150.00 so you’ll be out a little chunk of change. The glass guy said it was most likely from variations in thermal expansion, it was 68 inside and 104 outside, but that hasn’t broken any of my other doors or windows. He said the doors don’t have nitrogen or any kind of gas except air that’s trapped between them when the manufacturer lays the 2 sides together.

I explained how to make friends with the crows before, but it won’t work in the middle of the summer. I’ll explain again this fall if the subject arises. Ver pretty house btw

Yeah. I was wondering about that, too. 68° inside, 108° outside.

Thanks and definitely remind me this Fall when I start complaining about the crows harassing me again.

No bragging here. Just wrote a $2300 check for glass. Can’t wait to pay labor, too.

We are just replacing the entire window so the seal is new and we don’t lose the insulation. $1300

Houses settle, shift, move. Not to the naked eye though. When this happens it will crack the glass

Replacing the arched window above it, too.

Thanks for the pics of the house and reminding me how poor I am.
Also, did you check the wet bulb temp? If it's above 94, you and your house are going to die in a spontaneous inferno of apocalyptic proportions.
