Fox 8 has a gofund me link for this Marine Veteran who suffered a severe concussion, fractured eye socket, and fractured jaw. Terrible story and hope they can raise the money to get him back home.
Fox 8 New Orleans
"A 73-year-old military veteran was just passing through New Orleans when he was brutally attacked in the bathroom of a bus station in New Orleans.
The New Orleans Police Department says the attack happened at Union Passenger Terminal on Loyola Avenue on Sat., Aug. 12 around 10:24 a.m.
The victim, Dale Ball, was on his way back home to Washington after visiting Alabama, where he had been assisting his daughter in making funeral arrangements for her deceased husband. His family says he made a pit stop in New Orleans to celebrate his second honeymoon.
According to the police report, Ball was found lying on his back in the bathroom with a pool of blood underneath his head. First responders say he was only coherent enough to provide his first name due to the severity of his injuries."

This is normal and NOLA is a very safe city.

Why's everything so weirdly (horribly?) written these days.
"A bus station"? Is there more than one?
Says he made a "pitstop in New Orleans to celebrate his second honeymoon" but mentions nothing about a wife or what happened to her, only that the family in Alabama. What happened to the wife? Where was she?

At some point it’s our fault for continuing to go there.

For us maybe. But this poor chap was a 73 year old who's been living in Washington State.
I'm assuming he doesn't know how bad NOLA is unless he posts on the OT

Tent city homeless encampment near that bus station

I’m wondering if he was traveling by bus or just picked a shitty place to stop to pee.
Either way this is a sad story

If only CNN would cover stories like this, write "opinion" articles about this, etc

He should’ve had a bodyguard.

I posted this so people can donate a little money to him to help them out. 73 yr old Marine means he likely fought in Vietnam.

Any idiots on here still want to defend New Orleans after reading this?
