Brett Adair is in Tallahassee, Aaron Jayjack is east of Tallahassee, Reed should be in Florida at this point, he was in GA yesterday. Vince Waelti is down near Horshoe Beach. Mark Sudduth and the Hurricane Track team have been putting out remote cams/stations for a couple days now. No shortage of others heading down. Gonna be good live coverage.

That has to be an absolute shite area to "chase" a hurricane. Some of the more cautious chasers who just don't like chasing in a swamp have bowed out. A bunch of younger, less experienced people are headed down. It won't take a whole lot to get yourself in a bind with this one. There's not a whole lot in the way of high ground structures out there. Remote cams would be the way to go, for sure.

The forgotten coast/big bend area is about as unpopulated as it gets on the Florida coast. A whole lot of undeveloped forest and estuary down there. Cedar Key is a colorful little village of about 700 people in a small group of islands. I fear that it could get wiped out if this thing is strong enough.

Very compact storm. Seems uncommon for GOM storms the last few years

Not sure why you’re catching some DVs - Idalia will not be a very large storm, which is a silver lining.

They should avoid a direct impact from both Franklin and Idalia.

The Bermudans ain't skurred. They have a 15mph speed limit. They have simply outlawed fast moving things, hurricanes included.

there are NO major hurricanes in the historical dataset going back to 1851 that have tracked into Apalachee Bay.

The last landfall of a Cat 2 or higher along the FL coast between the landfall point of Michael/Kate(1985) and landfall of Ian/Charley was in 1968.

It’s getting super close to Tallahassee w/ the 10a numbers…i mean, last storm to hit Tallahassee was in 2016 and it was “barely” a hurricane when it hit shore ….so maybe they had gusts of 75mph - and they lost power for two weeks …

A Cat3 slamming into them is gonna leave a big mark for sure

Well, I guess there's a silver lining to this "heat dome". This bitch prolly comes up the river if the Bermuda high is in it's normal location.
