I couldn’t hear his homilies half the time. He was very particular ( I guess) about how he conducted his masses compared to other priests. Still a shock

He was highly interested in exorcisms

In the Hail Mary prayer you are literally asking her to pray for you. If she is being worshipped as a deity, why would you be asking that deity to pray on your behalf? Let me help you out. Worshiping Mary is not part of Catholic doctrine.

This is the problem with you protestant fricks. You think you are high and mighty. You judge people as if any religion is "the right one". Every religion has a case as to why their religion is THE religion.

That’s a pretty crazy take. One I’ve honestly never heard before. Complete bullshite but crazy.

The practice of baptizing (immersion) existed long before the Baptist faith. The first Baptist churches came around 1609. Martin Luther had great regret for Protestantism that he started by the end of his life. He spoke of Protestants being no better than the Papacy, being worse than they were under the Papacy and evangels being seven fold worse than they were before the reformation. Contrary to rumors, he did not request a Priest to confess sins to on his deathbed, though.

Obviously, the act of baptizing was done even before Christianity existed. John the Baptist was Jewish.

El Groucho is almost certainly Catholic.

My uncle from Mobile said his last homily was all about the corruption of the Archbishop in the diocese. I think the Archbishop is from New Orleans. and said he was leaving for Spain.

Father Thomas Rodi, or like we use to call him, Grodi Rodi. He was a complete dickhead. My aunt ran the CYO at St Christopher’s in Metairie, where Rodi was a new Paster tanking over from Father Taormina. She was the one who always booked Zebra to play at the dances in the late 70’s early 80’s, it was run like a tight business. Kids loved her, we always had a big trip either to Daytona beach and Disney, or Gatlinburg during the summer.

Long story short, Rodi came in and basically told my aunt she was out, and brought in one of his people, everyone was pissed. He basically destroyed their CY O because everyone quit.

The best protestants are those who love Christ and seek the truth. Unfortunately for many their truth stops with the Pastor at the pulpit. The best protestant conversion stories to Catholocism is when they figure out John 6 and Mathew 16:18(usually a pastor or protestant with some theology training).

I listened to a great conversion story last night; probably the first one that had me in tears because it was so beautiful of a story.

Religion doesn’t save anyone. There are a lot of both Catholics AND Baptists that are gonna bust Hell wide open. However, false doctrine taught within religion can deceive people and keep them from the knowledge of the truth of the PURE gospel that leads to redemption and salvation. The Bible is VERY clear about our sinful condition and our need for salvation through believing on Jesus Christ - he came, he died as our sacrifice, and he rose again. When we acknowledge the fact that we are lost and going to Hell, confess our sins to HIM (Jesus)- NOT a priest or Mary, and accept him as Lord, then we are quickened and changed and receive HIS salvation. The Bible tells us that JESUS is our direct access to the throne room of God… NOT Mary, a priest, or the Pope.

Correct. Christianity (now Catholicism) was founded by a guy named Jesus Christ. His cousin, who was about 3-6 months younger than his cousin a guy named John the Baptist.

John did NOT start a religion - he was simply a voice crying out “make straight the pathway”.
