I have been to Maui. It could have been me.

In all seriousness Maui is awesome and I hate seeing this but just like in CA they don't seem to clear out underbrush.

Lahaina is really nice, had drinks at Kimo's on the water
they have a ton of hotels north of Lahaina, some of the bigger chains
it's also where the college basketball tourney is every year in November

A hurricane that didn't even hit land is causing the worst disaster in Hawaii history
Wonder if insurance companies will charge the hurricane deductible

Time for all of the social media posts accompanied by an old picture from a Hawaiian vacation. "My heart is breaking for Lahania. Such a beautiful place, I'm so sad to see this happen. #LahaniaStrong"

Your throwback vacation picture isn't going to do shite for people running for their lives, Karen. Send money or supplies to organizations taking in evacuees if your heart is breaking.

Ah. For some reason I thought if it was in the Pacific, it was a typhoon.
