Not sure about Lafayette but in the BR area
Capitol block and pipe in Prairieville
Whole Foods for a block of cheese
Roy’s ice house for a block of ice
Grainger for block and tackle
Home Depot for cinder blocks
Old time farm supply for a salt or mineral block
What exactly are you looking for?

checked my warehouse out back. Got a few used blocks in various sizes. I'd include the hook for free.

Get a bag of ice from sonic, fill the bag with water, freeze it.
Science.
Science.

That’s almost perfect, only thing better is just filling a bag with water and freezing it. Free. Profit…
Assuming OP needs a large block?
this won’t help but in college when trying to build ice luges I found the easiest thing is to take a plastic storage bin from Walmart, fill with water, and freeze it. Only takes about 24 hours at most. Pretty easy to get out of the bin by spraying it with hot water.

I think there is a place on Willow. Going from Ambassador, it will be on the right. I have not purchased block ice in some time so it may not be there now or may not sell to the public anymore.

Blanchet's Exxon on the corner of HWY 90 and HWY 92 used to sell block ice once upon a time. Not sure if they still do, give them a call.

I use 1 gallon containers that ice cream comes in to make blocks to use when I go fishing. Be sure to put the top on the container. If not, the top will freeze first and when the ice expands, it cracks the bottom.

I’m almost positive they still do, a few months back I went to grab some ice and realized I was about to grab a block.
