This is my wife’s 25th and last year, very much looking forward to having my summer wife year round starting next summer.
Careful what you wish for my friend.

Teachers complaining after having a couple of months off. Shocking

“Trying not to frick the hot junior.”

I would imagine it’s that $50k salary.

Only having 3 months off each year instead of 4?

Not every parent is like that. I know my wife and sacrifice a lot to send our kids to the best schools in our area. And help the kids with their homework and studying.
I know I’m gonna get downvoted for this but why are all teachers miserable. Y’all knew what y’all signed up for! It’s not like someone put a gun to y’all’s head and made y’all be a teacher!

It’s part of the culture. They don’t put education high on the priority list. Also, parents put all the responsibility of the teacher to teach and zero on their child to learn. I mean look at this poor school in Asia but the students are so well mannered and eager to learn.

With standard "bank" holidays and 2 to 4 weeks of vacation
most professionals work 230 to 240 days per year. Or, about 65% of the time.
Teachers work 182 days per year. Or, about 50% of the time.
I think most of the difference lies in one's ability to totally mess around while at work. I've worked at plants, I've worked on the pipelines, and I taught for nine years.

Yeah but only for 9 months so no big deal. Plus two weeks for Christmas, a week for Easter another week for Mardi Gras.

See above big fella.
Teachers work more in 182 days than most desk jockeys work in 235.

Based strictly on social media, my guess for this question is actually having to go to work.

Hiding out from everyone in the teachers lounge until the end of the day.

Sounds like OP is in public school. If you want more parental involvement and overall better behaved students, I recommend switching to private school.
That’s where I’ve spent most of my career.
Also fewer mandated forms to fill out.

In Louisiana the max benefit for medical insurance is reached at 20 years. At least for all the parishes in CenLa. Max retirement benefit is 30 years.

I promise there are a lot of teachers doing shite they never knew they would be doing- instead of “teaching”. There’s a reason there’s a shortage- and getting worse.

People who bitch about teachers are just as annoying as the teachers who bitch.
