It’s illegal to impede traffic in the left lane. Several years ago, the Captain of Troop B was on the radio and confirmed that you need to move over, even if the left lane traffic was going over the speed limit.

I can't believe people are downvoting the zipper merge
I admit at one point in life I too was annoyed at people doing this, but then I recognized what is obvious - that it's far more efficient and safe to use the full amount of space.

Most of the time when I need to merge, no one lets me go so I have to stop - which causes back ups - I try to avoid merging in BR - especially on Jeff Hwy to Airline southbound

Driving 70 is safer than driving 80 but if everyone is driving 80 and you’re driving 70 then you’re the one being unsafe.

People who turn their right turn signal on then move over to the left completely doing the opposite of what they signal
Old men who drive sports cars at 30 in a 50 but "look cool"
People who wear masks in their car alone when driving
People who anticipate a red light so they slow down so much that of course the light turns red because they slowed down 500 feet before the actual light
People going slowly doesn't do much to bother me. Yea I bitch about it but just go around them

Not if you are driving in the appropriate lane and the other drivers were using the left lane as intended...to pass slower traffic and then moving back to the appropriate lane themselves.
