Had that once. I was at gym. They put me in shower and turned it on cold. Drank a bunch of water and Gatorade. Didn't feel right until after I started drinking pedialyte the next day

You keep that god damn thermometer away from me. You know the one I'm talking about.

I’ve read through this thread and as a kid that grew up playing golf my entire life in the south I know how brutal the heat can be. Before it got to a heat stroke I sat down before teeing off for an AM event in Dallas and ended up falling asleep/passing out in the corner of the locker room.

Our college golf coach was a stickler for water/hydration during practice. Thankfully our apts/dorms were on the course/close by so we could stop there if need be and the 15th hole par 3 was a real bitch anyway.

I had heat exhaustion a week ago today. Spent Monday chopping wood for about two hours. Woke up Tuesday morning, clammy skin and pain in my abdomen. Threw up a couple times and had dark brown urine. Had the full body aches the rest of the day and Wednesday. I’ve learned that there’s no such thing as being too prepared for this kind of heat. Glad you are on the mend. Feel better soon!

34 is still very young and being thin doesn’t mean you are in good shape, if your core temperature is high being in a warm bath was pretty stupid. You are lucky you didn’t damage a vital organ. High temperatures in adults are devastating to your nervous system

You are a doctor and got into a warm bath? One of those two things doesn’t compute

Try having 60 pounds of turnout gear and an scba on during a structure fire for 3 hours. That will drain you also. Golf. ??

I really appreciate your posting your experience and I'm very glad you're alright. I will be making some adjustments in my activities due to your story. There's some very valuable information in this thread and it's probable that it will keep someone(if not more than one) from going through what you did. Thanks and take care of yourself.

Wow! Glad you are ok. I am 49 and the heat messes with more now than ever. I used to do lawn care in college so I will still think I can handle the heat like I used to and that has caused me to have heat exhaustion a couple of times.

Now, I hydrate the night before and take care of my yard in sections

Had the same thing happen 20+ years ago after playing golf also.

I was staying hydrated.....or so I thought.

After the round I start feeling dizzy and like things were getting dark around me. I was saying at my parents house. I walked in, my Dad saw me and the first thing he does is go to the refrigerator and makes me drink a full thing of OJ then tells my mom to start a bath room temperature bath.

While sitting in the tub he brings me a beer and says drunk it or your going to have problems.

Glad to hear this wasn’t worse.

One time I was helping some guys repair a dock on moss lake. Old guy that leases the property sits down and starts convulsing. I thought for sure he was gonna die. We did some quick thinking and started cooking off his neck and arms. Ambulance came but he didn’t go. I think he was affected for quite awhile after that.

You missed the golfing part. I am guessing it was not water involved.

My only experience with it was in 5th grade in a gym with no AC in La.

3-4 of us got sick. Can’t believe they didn’t have AC in hindsight.

5 or 6 years ago (age mid 40s) I was working outside and got super hot, I could feel my heartbeat in my entire head. I haven't had any heat tolerance since.
