This is an under valued night in my life. I love vacations. Whether it be to Destin or home to Colorado or tomorrow to Banff Alberta.

But the afternoon/night before you leave is awesome. Everything packed, leaving at 8:30 for airport. No work for the next 7 days. Excitement. Relaxation. It is one of my favorite days of the year. The day before vacation.

You're not worried about that thing you forgot to pack?

The night before vacations is usually chaos in our house. The wife and daughter are major procrastinators on packing.

As much as I always try to prepare in advance I'm usually in the same boat. The day before, especially the night before, is usually chaos. Once you get on vacation that's when the fun begins.

Is usually filled with fights with my wife because I’m not packing fast enough or efficient enough or complete enough for her standards.

Yeah, it’s pretty cool. I’ve got a three year old going to the beach for the first time. She’s not been able to stop talking about it. We’re hunting mermaids and fish and all kinds of things.

I'd be anxious about how I was getting my weed and mushrooms across lines

I like the day we arrive.

Something about opening that first beer in the condo overlooking the beach.

Always got to make sure the house is spick and span before going on vacation.

When I get back I want to walk into hotel level clean.

I’m usually told I’m too relaxed for vacation to start.

For some reason everyone else in my traveling family wants shite planned down to the minute everyday.

FFS just go and relax wherever we are people, I’ll cook some steaks we can drink everything will be great. Either in the mountains, lake, river, beach, this applies to all scenarios.

If you have a kid hide it underneath their seats they’ll never look there

Your wife is smart. Walking into a dirty house after vacation sucks.
