Single A is a good place for him to get his feet wet in professional baseball.

He never needed shoulder surgery. He's good to go.

Between DC and Richmond on I-95 is where dreams go to die. It’s awful in every way.

They have a great gun show twice a year.

If he continues getting plunked in the minors that is going to be extremely funny tbh. I've never seen a player be that much of a magnet for two straight seasons.

I don’t know much about hitting, but I think the pros will change Dugas’ approach. College pitchers tried to pitch Dugas inside to stay away from his power. He crowded the plate and benefitted from a lack of control from college pitchers.

He could be effective doing that in single A, but there is no future in that for him (or them).

I’m really looking forward to keeping up with Skenes, Crews, and Dugas.

The Nats selected Dugas in the sixth round (165th overall) out of LSU. Henry has known the second baseman for a long time and got scouting reports from former coaches and teammates at LSU on the two draft picks.

“I can tell you I've been playing with Gavin for a really long time since I was about 15-16 years old and he's just the definition of a dirtbag, man,” Henry said. “He just loves baseball. He loves being a part of a team. He's a competitor. He's always a guy that I'm really excited to have behind me and on the same team as me. He fires everybody up. He's a great leader. Now I've heard the same things about Dylan. Just a baseball player, true and true. And I think you can't go wrong having both those guys behind you, especially as a pitcher. It just gives you all the confidence in the world that he's gonna run one down and Gavin's gonna dive for a ball in the hole and make a play on it. It's exciting stuff.”

Nats drafted a bunch of older players with no leverage to free up additional money to appease Boras and sign Crews. As the #2 pick, Crews has a $9 million bonus slot; Boras has been barking about how Crew must get $10 million to sign, which probably contributed to the Pirates decision to draft Skenes.

Ironically, one of the Nats draftees to sign for a way under slot amount is Crews’ LSU teammate, Gavin Dugas. As the 6th round pick, Dugas was slotted for a $350K bonus, and instead, he signed for $20K; with the $330K difference earmarked for Crews to bump his bonus closer to the $10M threshold which Boras demanded pre-draft. Rich get richer. Crews should buy Dugas a car or something.
