I think we are all underestimating how close this was to being poster Napoleon's story, if not for the USCG.

Old guy was sailing from LaPaz to French Polynesia. He undoubtedly started the voyage fully provisioned for a lengthy voyage. He wasn’t without food and water for the entire 3 months.
